My Training Log

So far, so good. Fort Gordon is lax as fuck, especially compared to Fort Benning. I’ll be home in about 9-10 weeks. I’m able to lift here, although I haven’t yet. If I can train every weekend, I think a 1300lb total at 181 is possible, as I’ll have another month of training once I get home to prepare for the NASA Grand Nationals in July.

A few days ago-
Bench- 5x3@185
Squat- 5x3@275
Face pulls- lots

Notes: The gym here kind of sucks because the benches are god awful (way too low to the ground, and only two rack settings–either six inches from my face or at full goddam extension–and there is only one squat rack. Still, I will be able to get work in. My main goal is still to get leaner and improve my PT score (especially my running, as I am trying to volunteer for Airborne School), but I will still try to lift at least twice a week.

I am lifting 100% without gear and will be doing nothing but a simple squat/press/pull template, doing whatever rep/set schemes I feel will work for that day. I just need to work on building my base back up so I can go full force once I get home and try to total 1300 at 181. That’s right- a PR total at a lower weight class, after not lifting for three months. Why not?
