My Testosterone Affect my Skin?

Hi,

I am John, from Europe, 22 years. I never used steroids.

I have a question: my skin is very oily!! A lot of sebum, I have to wash my hair everyday. I have some pimples in my face and my back. My hair grow very fast but I have no beard and no body hair.

I have low testosterone: Total testosterone 4.1 ng/mL

All this is related? What about my DHT?

PS: I’m on l-thyroxine 25mg/day and my doc gave me tetralysal for my skin

Typically we would expect drier skin with low testosterone. Elevated DHT could do this, but most of the time, low testosterone leads to low DHT. However we have had one exception to this. You could ask to have DHT tested.

There is a lot of info here in the stickies. Start with the “advice for new guys sticky”.

You have hypothyroidism. Check your body temperatures as per the “thyroid basics” sticky. That can be a guide to your dosing.

I’ve already created my own topic:

I think my thyroid is good, this was my last test:
TSH 0.335 mcU/mL => decreased
Total testosterone 4.5 ng/mL (3 - 11) => increased a little bit from last test
Fsh: 0.8 U/L (1.4 - 18) => decreased
Lh: 2.9 U/L => decreased

With transdermal T [creams, gels], you get the highest potential for E2 and DHT.

Body temperatures? If low, your fT3 may be low or blocked by rT3

Did your thyroid get large at one point?

Thyroid meds can push TSH down. Taking T4 does not increase T3 for some people. Do you feel that your hypothyroidism symptoms are gone?

I stopped testogel 1 year ago…

I will check my body temperature.

No my thyroid did’nt get large.

I think my symptoms are gone but I still have thick skin, I dont know maybe it’s just fat?

“thickened skin” can be part of hypothyroidism. Notable on shins and top of feet where skin would normally be expected to be thinner.
