Those lifts looked way too easy, I thought they were supposed to be “heavy” singles! Awesome progress dude.
Lol thanks, phlegms!

Looks like the hard work is paying off… here’s to some good competition today.
I’m honored to have your one and only post in my log haha. Good lifting today big Jon, and congrats on another win. I’ll have you next year.

Oh LOL. Those lifts were SO FRIGGIN QUICK. Your bench was literally ridicilious. Deadlift went up like a warmup. The squat looked a slight strain but still a way off what your true PR must be.

Beyond impressed. Kind of makes me want to focus on strength and spent my remaining food money for the next 6 weeks on Indigo so CT can help me along the way. But seriously (as much as I would want the prior situation to happen) your work ethics been awesome though Adam. Honestly great stuff.
Thanks for the kind words, jake. If you have the money, then I say definitely go for it!

STOP BEING SO PERFECT YOU SON OF A BITCH </3

I will catch you son. Damn good work

Inspiring progress dude, definitely gives me a bit of hope for my own measly total!

As an oly lifter though, the form on the snatch/cleans could definitely use a bit of work :stuck_out_tongue:

Got a feeling the powerlifts were your focus

Amazing work man. That setting/meet looked awesome for raw lifting… just what I’d want to try if I ever did one. Big PRs everywhere! Deadlift is getting pretty big and squat is very respectable, but it seems you are something of a bench specialist! 330 is sick!.. what did you weigh in at before the meet?

Wow! Congratutlations is definitley in order for your competition results! You’re looking bigger and stronger than ever. There is even a noticable difference in your muscle mass since the Bootcamp videos. Did you think 2 years ago that you would be where you are today in terms of size and strength? Great job at the meet.

Holy shit dude thats awesome lol

why was there a clean and jerk though in this comp?

and man those PRs were beastly dude amazing job

You’ve made a ton of progress bud, Congrats. Also, I’m insanely jealous of your gym.

Nice Job man. You’ve certainly made a shit ton of progress, keep it up.

@staive: You changed your avatar! NOOOOOO!!

@phlegms: Thanks! Obviously I didn’t give a poop about my Oly lifts lol.

@jake: Thanks man! Yeah it’s kind of embarrassing how close my bench is to my squat lol. Oh well. I weighed in at 211-212 before the meet, which is weird because every time I weigh myself at my place in the morning it is usually at 205.

@vaccuumcleaner: Thanks, bud! No way did I think I would make it this far when I first started. It was always my goal to hit a 315 bench, but honestly, it wasn’t as satisfying as I thought it would be. Need more!!

@Blackaggar: Thanks! It’s just our strength club’s fun version of a meet, combining Oly and PLing. It was work maxing for around 4 hours! Lol

@WhiteFlash: Thank you! I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. And I love that gym. I just wish I had more access to it, because I only get it for 3 hours at a time 4 days a week. Sucks when I’m busy during the times it’s open, because I love deadlifting there.

@Heracles: Thanks, and I will!

Why the limited access? Is it the athletes weightroom that “regular” students are allowed in during designated hours?

I was mid posting this last night when my laptop died lol. Here we go again:

NOTES: I dropped the weight a little bit on the pulldowns and am glad I did because I had a MUCH better MMC. One of the better pumps I’ve had
WhiteFlash wrote:

It’s actually more like a class weight room that certain classes have access to. I think the faculty has their own hours for access as well, and we have our “strength club” hours 4 days a week. I know they do studies in this room, also. I was in a study at one point, but bailed the day it started lol. I went in to test my maxes and had to drop out the day it started because they did a muscle biopsy that I was NOT cool with. I walked in and saw a few guys sitting around with curtains around them getting muscle extracted from their leg and I about passed out lol.

^^^FUCK THAT, haha. I’m assuming you have to be involved with the club or mandatory classes to use that weightroom, but either way it’s pretty sweet. Just found out yesterday that one of my cousins is going to KU to get his Phd in art history. Said KU’s pretty cool.

Phase 1 Week 1 Quads

A) Squat
245 X 6 X 3
These are starting to feel EASY, more and more each day.

B) Bench
235 X 6 X 3 GUUD

C) Deadlift
365 X 6 X 3 Noice

D) Leg Press (weight indicated is for one side)
(6 plates and 15 X 5) X 4
6 plates and a 25 X 5 cluster reps

Active Rest: hammer strength curls X 12

E) Front Squat
205 X 7 X 3
These were ROUGH

F) DB Bulgarian Split Squats
55 X 7 X 3
ROUGH

G) Leg Extensions
7 X 3

NOTES: This was last night’s session and I am SORE now! I’m feeling much stronger, though. Taking today off from the gym to work on school work and travel to my mom’s later for dinner, but then I’ll be hitting it hard tomorrow for the first day of week 2.

Yeah you have to be in the club, classes, or be a faculty member to use it. It is really sweet.

KU is definitely awesome and I enjoy it here.

Haha my friend said the exact same thing when he hit 315 the other day lol. It has always been his goal and now that he hit it, he said its not enough lol. 365 next???

Phase 1 Week 2 Chest

A) Squat
255 X 5 X 3

B) Bench
245 X 5 X 3

C) Deadlift
375 X 5 X 3

I forgot I was supposed to do 4 sets of 5, whoops. Oh well . . . .

D) Close-Grip Floor Press
235 X 5 X 4
250 X 5 X 2 cluster reps

E) Wide-Grip Reverse Band Floor Press
285 X 6 X 4

F) Skull Crushers
85 X 6 X 4
Last few reps were sloppy at the end but my tris were trashed either way.

G) Power Flyes
45s X 6 X 4

NOTES: HFS felt pretty explosive and the weights feel just perfect for every day work. Foundation numbers were up from last week and I used a false grip on the last set of clusters and felt MUCH stronger. I’m going to keep this in mind from now on.

Here is the vid from today

and the vid from Saturday’s quad session

Well assuming I hit 365 before 405, then yes . . . . 365 is next

hows training going man?

I’ve been getting at it when I can but school has been pretty crazy lately. I’ll have a nice break here before finals, though.

Phase 1 Shock Week Chest Day

A) Extreme ROM Split Squats
BW X 5 w/ 5 second hold each side
15 lb DBs for the same

B) Squat
265 X 4 X 5
These were cake and felt much better after the extreme ROM squats.

C) Bench
255 X 4 X 5
I’m playing around with a false grip more and more and am starting to get comfortable with it.

D) Deadlift
385 X 4 X 5

E) Close-Grip Floor Press
245 X 5 X 3 (up 10 lbs from last week)
260 X 5 X 3 cluster reps (also up 10 lbs from last week)

F) Wide-Grip Reverse Band Floor Press
295 X 5 X 5

G) Nose Breakers
85 X 5 X 4

H) Power Flyes
55s X 5 X 4

NOTES: It’s been a really rough past few days with school and I wasn’t able to make it to the gym since Saturday, so I was really ready to get to it today. I was afraid of being a bit sluggish after a few days off, but it turned out to be the opposite.

Looks like your still on top of your game, looking forward to seeing some more crazy-ass strength increases from you

@jake: Thanks for stopping in!

Well, the last week has been pretty hectic, and I’ve been sick the past few days (still a bit sick today but oh well). Things are probably going to be pretty crazy for the next 4 weeks or so until finals are over, so I’m just going to train as often and as hard as I can.

This was yesterday’s training. I went rather light during HFS since I still wasn’t feeling great and didn’t want to push it. I ended up having a pretty decent session in the afternoon. My cluster set with 185 on push press was no PR, but the reps were much better than before.

A.M. HFS

A) Squat
265 X 4 X 5

B) Bench
245 X 4 X 2 I did these with Fat Grips and they were much harder than I anticipated.
245 X 4 X 3 took Fat Grips off.

C) Deadlift
365 X 2 X 5 I kept these light and with only 2 reps because with the plates rocking between reps, it makes it impossible to bang out a smooth set.

P.M.

A) Push Press
165 X 5 X 3
175 X 5 X 2 (cluster reps)
185 X 5 (cluster reps)

B) Wide-Grip OH Press
135 X 5 X 5

C) BB Front Raises
65 X 5 X 5

AR: Fat bar curls

D) Cable Rope Upright Rows
5 X 5

NOTES: I still felt pretty sick going into the 2nd session, but didn’t want to leave because I’m tired of missing sessions lately. I’ll be able to hit the last day of “shock” week today, though. I’m looking forward to it!

Your progress is crazy! At this rate you’ll have a total OVER 9000 in no time…
