Yeah I just recently lowered the bar a bit and it’s starting to feel pretty comfortable.

Haha, thanks Aqua. I think I would do a few things differently:
Do a better PRE-cut diet (i.e. don’t get too FAT haha). I’m not saying I’m afraid to put on some fat, but I need to keep it more reasonable than what I was doing for a while.
Don’t drop cals too much in the beginning. I was pretty aware my cals were LOW in the beginning (averaging 2,250 a day) but I thought “who cares”. I don’t think I needed to start that low.
Use the pulse feast more often. The pulse fasts worked, but man did they kill me psychologically. I just don’t enjoy going an entire day without food. Your diet has to be something you can follow, and I couldn’t do another day of fasting lol.
that’s about all I can think of now.

Haha, thanks bud! I don’t plan on quitting until the day I die. Or until I get too old and beat-up lol. But, after reading CT’s Livespill today about his 61 year old client, I’m thinking age shouldn’t be much of an issue haha
SO, I started the Shredded in 6 Days diet today, as a way of “peaking” for my contest. I honestly don’t think I’m lean enough for it to have much of an effect (I’m almost certain I’m not lean enough) but it certainly can’t HURT my chances. I’ve already had 2 gallons of water today (it’s 4:30) so I’ve been pissing like a race horse every 30 minutes lol. I may not post until Friday, I’ve got a C++ exam in an hour, a lab report due tomorrow, homework due tomorrow, a lab tomorrow, my usual gym sessions tomorrow and Friday, and a thermodynamics exam Friday morning at 7:30. I wish I could hit a fast-forward button and have it be the weekend!
Just out of curiosity, you say you didn’t enjoy the pulse fasts as a way of leaning up. But would you try out something like an intermittent fasting (ie; 16 hours fasting, 8 hour feeding window) style eating regime?
I personally wouldn’t be able to hack them, I enjoy a constant stream of food into my system far too much for that!

Yes, that’s what I meant by my 3rd point “Use the pulse FEAST more often”. The pulse feast is just a type of IF. I do my own version of have 25-30g of hydrolyzed whey instead of MAG-10, but only to save money. There’s no doubt MAG-10 is a far better product. But anyway, I have either 1 or 2 servings of whey hydrolysate, and if it’s an off day, I won’t eat until 3 pm, but if I’m training, I’ll eat at 12 or so, or I may train at 12 and then start eating immediately after (I do have carbs + protein during training, so technically I brake the fast when I start drinking my periWO nutrition).

Ashy, it’s always cool to see guys our age busting ass. As I’ve posted before, I’m about to transfer to a better/harder school soon, and I’m gonna be much busier. But, I’ve noticed that when my plate is super full, relaxation means more. In fact, since I’m in college, and thursday is friday (end of the week), I’ve placed my cheat meal on Thurs night. That way I slave away at school/gym/life Mon-Thurs, then bust out some killer legs on Thurs night, then indulge! Knowing the week is over makes the “cheat” that much better! Good luck on exams, and keep us posted on the massive water intake. Do you Crystal Light it up, or is it just plain water?
Awesome! I appreciate the response. I asked because I’m considering giving the MAG-10 pulse fast a shot and possibly doing a cut to see how my body works. But I’ll probably only try the whole dieting down thing come next spring.

I used to be a breakfast guy as well, but not really anymore. I always have an 8 am class, so I never have time for a solid breakfast. It’s always just 2 scoops of protein and some peanut butter lol

I hear ya man, “work hard, play hard” is what I’ve always said.
I use a knock off brand of Crystal Light lol. I get it in the big containers that have the big pouches that say “add 1 to 2 quarts of water” so I add 2 of those to a gallon jug. It says it has 0 cals and 0 carbs, but I’m sure there’s a trace amount in there. I’m at 30-40 grams of carbs a day now though so it’s alright. I count EVERYTHING, even pb, protein powders, almonds, etc.

Well I felt pretty darn good with my C++ exam two nights ago, but I hardly studied for my thermodynamics exam that I’m taking in an hour lol. Why am I on this site right now?! Sometimes I wonder how I have a 3.5 gpa. I received a letter the other day saying I’m in the top third of my class at KU, which is pretty kickass, so I’m invited into some big scholars group or something lol. Something solid to put down on the resume
