My Road To BEASTNESS w/ Vids

Haha, it’s my dad’s he’s been building for about a year now. We were pretty poor growing up. Went from living in an apartment, to a small duplex, slowly working up. He’s worked his ass off running his own oil company, so I’m pretty proud of him.

Coolness. It’ll be interesting seeing how this turns out

Do you think you’ll be logging your diet and what not?

I guess I really should, it’ll help keep me in line. I’ll probably throw up some progress pics every 3-6 weeks too. Whatever will help keep things in check. Sucks to diet while living the college life. My roommates consume nothing but pizza and beer haha

1/18/2010

Training:
Neural charge session

Squat 145 X 3
OH Press 95 X 3
Goblet Squat 50 lb DB X 3
1 Arm DB Push Press 50 X 2 (each arm)

Did this for 20 minutes

Diet:
(Pulse Fast)
80g of CH spread over 8 pulses (some Leucine added)
3 scoops Power Drive

Sounds good. While I’m not officially trying to lean out, I just try to stick to mainly dead animal flesh and dead vegetation, I plan on posting pics monthly just to see how I’m progressing beyond my lifts. I feel for you on the whole college diet dilemma.

Bro, you should be reading the NY Times, way better paper lol

Yeah that’s what I usually stick to, lots of meat, veggies, some fruit, olive oil, and LOTS of peanut butter! Haha, I go through PB like it’s my job

Lol, I don’t ever read the paper. It was either that, or our local Wichita Eagle, which I thought would have been boring beyond belief lol

haha lol

Haha, If I could down PB I’d be eating it like nobody’s business. My snack of choice is beef jerky :). Just got myself 5 one pound bags haha.

If you haven’t checked out today’s article, I’d definitely give it a look considering your new short-ish term goal.

All the best for the competition!

That $500 is yours.

NOTES: Dang, this was difficult lol. Should have waited and gotten another meal in before, since I did the pulse fast yesterday. I packed a FINiBAR with me, which I had after squatting. It saved my life lol, I was very light head during squats, but still kept the pace up and got a great sweat. I also took more time doing mobility stuff and foam rolling before, and I felt a lot better from it. Probably won’t do eccentric-less today again, because it’s snowing. But, tomorrow I’m back in the strength club at KU, so I can always do eccentric-less training there

It’s not rare to see me taking the spoon to a jar for a few minutes lol. Did you get that jerky from Costco? That place is heaven for any bodybuilder/powerlifter lol

Yea I saw it. I’ll probably do something a little similar, but while incorporating the pulse fast, sometimes pulse feast.

Thanks, buddy! I’d like to see more comments like these every now and then to keep me on track. Part of me is already feeling like I’m wasting my time cutting. But I know as long as my training/diet is spot on, there’s a good chance I can add a little lean mass while losing weight.

That’s a pretty decent drop in weight, assuming you were hovering somewhere in the high 190s, low 200s.

Not costco, but sam’s. Same thing really haha.

Diet
I decided to carb up today since I haven’t in a while. Also, I probably won’t be posting each exact meal every day lol, but I’ll keep updating daily macros.

Meal 1
1 cup oats
1.5 scoops whey
1 apple

Peri Workout
2 scoop Anaconda
20g CH
2 scoops Surge Workout Fuel
1 FINiBAR

Post WO
200g chicken
3 slices wheat bread
2 tbs PB
1 apple

Meal 3
1 cup oats
1.5 scoops whey

Meal 4
160g chicken
2 slices wheat bread

Meal 5
1 scoop protein

Daily Totals
Protein: 288g
Carbs: 346g (62g fiber LOL)
Fat: 64g
Cals: 3,002

NOTES: I plan to eat 3,000 cals on training days, and try to keep the pulse fast going on the 2 days I do neural charge sessions. If I keep this up, it will put me at an average 2,250 cals a day. I think this is reasonable, but maybe I should up it a little bit for the first few weeks. Thoughts?

Yeah my dad is a member at Sam’s. He just picked up 6 jars of Naturally More PB for me if you’ve seen that haha. It’s got some added flax seeds in it, so it’s a bit better

I’m not diet expert at all. Do have an idea of how many cals you need to maintain your weight? That would be a good start for determining whether or not averaging 2250 cals/day is reasonable.

Well I know my maintenance calories can’t be much higher than 3,000 (if that), so this SHOULD have me losing no more than 2 pounds a week, which is reasonable. I’ll be checking the scale once a week to see how it goes

No problems man, I want to see you succeed + I think you have every chance to gain some lean mass during the program.
Looking forward to watching the progress.

As Blood Runs Black - “My Fears Have Become Phobias”

My band opened up for these guys at a house show in Wichita a few years back haha, it was badass!

NOTES: Had to walk 15-20 minutes in the snow (15 degrees out) to get my buddies car from the party he went to last night. My car wouldn’t even budge out of my apartment’s parking lot lol. I could have b*thed out, but I don’t think Matt Kroc would have  or any of my fellow T-Nationers! Bench felt absolutely great today, so my failed reps on Monday must have just been from doing around 25 heavy sets of pressing before lol. I’ll be heading back to the strength club for deadlifts and eccentric-less work in a few hours
