No it won’t. I believe it works through more neurological pathways within the brain and cells themselves.
Do you suspect you have trouble breaking down fructose? That’s where you could look more into things like digestive enzymes or motility agents like ginger and artichoke extract. The latter has been a daily staple for me for about 6 months, and has done a great job keeping things regular.
Another thought is maybe you consume too much fiber. How much do you eat in a day average?
According to MyFitnessPal logging, about 80-85g/day of fiber.
Can you explain your digestive enzymes, etc you mentioned you’ve been taking the last six months?
That much fiber would definitively fuck my life up.

That is a fuck ton of fiber! That would explain the bloating. Those quest bars are killer for that. I would try to find a new protein source or maybe limit those to one a day. I always found my body to handle natural fiber in foods infinitely better than quest fiber. Those eventually felt like eating a brick for me. Quest contains fake synthetic fiber isomalto-oligosaccharides, which means it does not fully offset carb absorption like naturally occurring fibers, i.e. it’s not really accurate to subtract total g fiber from your daily carb count
I don’t take digestive enzymes, but I take a ginger + artichoke supplement. I wouldn’t recommend adding anything like that though, as it seems clear the fiber megadosing is the issue. I would scale that way back first and see how you feel before throwing away money on new supplements.

Ok. I seem to thing you’re right, but why don’t I feel this way right after eating those bars? It seems it’s more after lunch and supper that I feel this way and not post workout when I have the bars. Not questioning you btw.
That makes perfect sense to me. It takes quite awhile to digest them. Plus, post workout we’re always riding that endorphin high, which can somewhat mute pain signals like stomach distress.
Gotcha! I really appreciate it!
Any thoughts on the Barebells or RX protein bars compared to Quest?

I can’t help you there. I gave up protein bars awhile ago, especially now that I’m lactose intolerant. My gut in general is pretty sensitive as I get older so I stay away from stuff with preservatives or artificial sweeteners too.
