Acid, I am sorry to hear about your friend.
Very sorry for your loss. Tessa B. my 2 year old Basset is watching me type this.
I remember one day my son came home from work and said a patient of his offered him a full blooded Basset puppy when they were born. In my infinite wisdom I remember saying “We don’t need anymore pets. We’ve got 5 cats and a dog already”.
I forgot about it till one day I got off work and walked in the front door. He handed the puppy to me, and now she is my best bud. Tessa B. Quiet.
I wish it was as easy to love and be loved by humans.
Damn, I can’t even read this thread, it’s too sad. I’ve lost two of my dogs and it hurts to this day. They’re just so easy to love, so pure. It’s just hands down, dogs are so much better than people.
I’m really sorry man.

I once had a dog, he died in the microwave, he slipped in there and i accidently turned the microwave on, rip
Thank God, this thread was just way too full of people speaking about their true loving feelings towards incredibly loyal companions.
I’m glad a total asshole could chime on to bring me back to earth.
Sorry for the loss bud. Dogs dying is hard to deal with.

So sorry to hear it. I had to put mine to sleep a few years ago, and I still catch my self looking for him when I pull in the driveway sometimes.
Glad I’m not the only one who still does this. It’s been 3 months and I still look for my ol friend. My kids had never saw me cry until he died.
All I can really say is that you have my sympathy…
Our cocker spaniel got sick without warning…when she pissed blood, we took her to the vet. It turned out that her body was destroying her RBCs. They did a transfusion and tried every steroid available, but her red count just kept dropping. My mom took her home and stayed up with her that night as she passed. She called me the next day, and as soon as I hung up the phone I dove into my pillow and let it all out. She was only about 4, so it was a really tough…
We recently saved an eight-year-old weimaraner (weimar pointer). He’s still very youthful, so we hope to have him for a while.
My sympathies man. Sorry to hear for your loss.
I’m almost tearing up reading this thread and thinking about when my two boys are going to pass on. Cripes, I’ve only had one for maybe 2 months and the other one for one week.
It’s amazing how fast you form a bond with a dog. I can’t imagine my life without either one of them.
Stay strong man and try to remember the good times!

acidhell,
I lost my best friend of 13 1/2 years a month ago. A woman at work shared her experience with me, and it was a nice sentiment. She said that it was not long before her tears turned to smiles as she remembered the fun times they had together. You’ll never forget your dog’s smile.
Now, of course my eyes are filled with tears as I write this. I don’t think the tears will ever completely go away, they just come on less frequently.
