Well actually my goal is not to weight 250lbs, but more something like 180-185, lean and athletic shape, just like George St-Pierre. GSP is 170lbs though.
Not to be negative, but realistically you will never look like GSP. The guy is a genetic freak.
Well that quite make sense, he is trainning full time, i dont. I have a full time job, a small business, and a girlfriend to take care of
But he is such an inspiration of determination.
GSP walks around 185-190, most fighters walk around 15-25 lbs over their weight class, I walk around 155 and cut to 135. The last 10-15 lbs are cut the week of the weigh ins by glycogen depletion and other dehydration methods. He weighs close to 190 when he steps in the cage though.
Here’s an article talking about his walk around weight, weight cut, etc.
And i hate him for this lol!
fast forward to 3 mins in, here he says he walks around 185-195ish
ugaMMA411 yea you’re right about the class overweight.
Alright now, just a little update on my diet… Im on my 7th day. I noticed a few side effects. Im VEEEEEEERY tiered, all day long, but when i hit the bed i seems to be unable to fall asleep. Im deffinately suffering from insomnia. Im very dizzy all day long and concentration seems to be an issue. I also have a very bad taste in my mouth (yea i brushed my teeth lol). Anyways, im not giving up. Hope to feel a little better after my carb up. My concern is that im starting a new job next tuesday (would be my 10th day). Ppl are saying that they encounter a “crash” on day 8 or so… Hope this is not going to be an issue.

YOu should be starting better even without your carb-up:D That you’re tired is normal because your body is making the transition. I was dizzy too and pretty heavy crash as well.If you workout a lot don’t forget to think about your electrolytes or at least supplement with potassium. The bad taste in your mouth is normal with some dry lips and being thirsty as a mofo. Just make sure you drink enough and eat good!
Thanks Webseeker. How long have you been dizzy and when did you encounter that “crash”, if you remember? I know its probably different for everyone, but it could give me an idea. This is actually stressing me out because like i said, im starting a new job next week and i will need all of my concentration. Is there anything i can take to boost me up?

I had the crash on day 3. I was just so freaking tired and got some sleep. I had dizzyness for at least 3 weeks and it started to get less after that. Plus some heart palpitations but supplementing (probs because i was losing too much electrolytes trough sweating) with potassium got rid of that. Headaches as well but its all gone after i pushed on with the diet. I didn’t do any check-ups with the docter before i started but its definitely something i would recommend.Keep your vitamins in check, eat veggies, multivitamins,POW shake with BCAA was en is helping me a lot. Boosts i only use before training.*Quote Dr mauro: The problem can also be severe in men due to large quantities lost in sweat from
exercise. A mild deficiency can lead to fatigue and lost performance in the gym.272
A large deficiency can lead to heart problems. That’s one of the reasons why you’ll
find potassium included as a preventative in a good multi-vitamin supplement. As well,
a recent study has shown that potassium deficiency inhibits protein synthesis and
thus may sabotage some of the toning and shaping effects we’re trying to achieve
through the Metabolic Diet.
Potassium is available in various formats at health food stores and drugstores.
I usually recommend a starting daily dose of 50-100 mg of elemental potassium up to
a maximum of 600 mg per day. While it’s important to take some potassium to ensure
that there is no dietary deficiency, it’s just as important not to take too much.
Moderation is the key since too much potassium can cause some of the same
problems as too little, including irregular heart beat and other heart problems.
Im working on my Carb Up diet for the upcoming week end. So excited, can’t wait to eat fruits! There we go;
Fat/Carbs/Pro/Cal
1cup oatmeal 6/60/15/330
1cup of skim milk 0/12/9/80
1 apple 0/25/0/95
1 banada 0/27/1/105
1 apple 0/25/0/95
1 low fat muffin 3/62/4/300
100g chicken 3/4/19/120
spinach salad 0/0/0/7
1 cup brown rice 2/45/5/216
1 banada 0/27/1/105
1 apple 0/25/0/95
1 low fat muffin 3/62/4/300
3cup wheat pasta 3/111/21/522
1/2 cup marinara 3/18/2/111
4 tsp parmesan 10/4/20/180
casein shake 1/1/25/110
frozen banana 0/27/1/105
1tsp ground flaxseed
fish oil
TOTAL 34/535/151/2876
Cal from fat = 10.6%
Cal from carbs = 74.4%
Cal from pro = 21%
Still not perfect, im kinda low on Cal. Plus my carbs/fat ratio should look more like 60/40. I will have to work this out. Will probably add some fish oil/olive oil to bump the fat/cal a bit, which should drop the cal from carbs as well. I went with clean carbs to avoid couch coma. What you guys think? Any recommandations? Cheers!
Day 8. What can i say? I feel GREEEEEAT! I feel like i can move mountains. I feel very strong, energized, focus, no headache, bad mouth taste is gone… I guess i finally went through the “metabolic shift”? Damn that was about time.
Also im halfway reading Dr D’s book. Very interesting, and motivating. I now have plenty of confidence with this diet. Tomorrow im going to buy a truckload of vitamins and fish oil, as well as a new tube of Casein. Got my weightgainer ready for the carb up as well.

Looks great! But a new theory suggest that after 6 hours on your carb-load day you should not consume any fructose anymore(unless your are very lean) In the last 4 til 6 hours you should start making the transition to go back to fat burning mode again.

Exercise smarter, not harder. So, if you are trying to lose weight, don’t go mad with exercise - get more out of less." These moves can help you get a flatter tummy as they reduce levels of stress hormones in the body, which encourage fat around your middle.
