I’m not ashamed of things I love but music I occasionally listen to out of the ordinary consists of Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani, The Blackeyed Peas and lately Trentalange.

Nobody should ever be ashamed of The Scorpions. Ever.
(and lixy, the smiths? you thought they belonged on a shameful music thread…shame on you)
I never thought I’d be defending The Scorpions and The Smiths in the same breath, but hey…life is long.[/quote]
I was into the Scorpions back in the late 70’s in the old Ulrich Roth on leads days.
Saw them 3 or 4 times with Matthias. Those guys were one of the hardest working live bands I ever saw. You practically crawled out of there trying to catch your breath.
EDIT: Now I had to dig out the old Tokyo Tapes version of Polar Nights.
Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature”.
Sometimes I’ll put that song on repeat. It totally puts me in a weird contemplative frame of mind, sometimes bordering on melancholy.
They played the Lost Highway CD in order in its entirety.
I have to say that as vanilla as their songs are, they certainly have a brilliant presence on stage. Love or hate that guy, he’s aging well with voice intact.
Ashamed? Sure. But they hold a special place in my heart-- I got laid in the parking lot pre-concert at the “Slippery When Wet” tour when I was 16.
