I actually really dig an English accent. Will be in London in August. Brits are fucking great
Especially from a noisy neighbor.
The Longest Wave by RHCP. Turn it up loud while driving through some mountains.
Well, I’m killing time, so figure I might take the thread back to the original purpose, but veer into soft stuff about being emotional.
This is the song that I listened to through a long-distance engagement.
This was my wedding dance.
And this is my current driving song that makes me miss her.
Ho Hey is a good fucking song
Love Will Tear Us Apart… either the Joy Division or Swans version
My mum sold real estate in the 70s and probably 80s. She had this beautiful '76 Cadillac El Dorado, two door, white. She had to have the look of success. I can recall two songs I heard while riding along in that car. It had a stereo that amazed me. One evening I heard More Than a Feeling for the first time ever on that radio/stereo system. I could not get enough of Boston. I have seen them five or six times? And even hung with the band post concert in Boise. Idaho. The other song that has made me a fan for life was/is Baba O’Riley by The Who. We are riding along in that Cadillac, Baba O’Riley started playing and I thought that synthesizer would make my head explode. I have seen The Who twice, never backstage. Unfortunately we age, our heroes age, Roger Daltrey turned 80 last weekend. Those great rock bands of the 60s, 70s, and 80s left us a pretty good musical legacy.
Fuck ya ! Glad I grew up in an era where vinyl gave way to tapes to c.d.'s to this crap now. Still buying vinyl.
I buy vinyl still as well.
If you all haven’t heard the album “Rebel Meets Rebel” I suggest checking it out. It’s a collab between Pantera and David Allan Coe
There’s so many. Deftones, Tool, Allison Krause, Dolly Parton, Beethoven (7th!), Radiohead, modest mouse. I could go on forever.
Dave Matthews Band - before these crowded streets.
Got to see him at SPAC like 20 years ago. Great show and Buddy Guy was the opener. Honestly, he stole the show.
I got to see B.B. King 3 times live before he went! First time definitely changed my life.
Gotta give a shout out to The Temper Trap. I never understood how they didn’t become juggernauts with popularity on the level of Maroon 5 or Coldplay.
One of the best shows I have seen was Steve Vai at the House of Blues Chicago.
All three with amazing guitar work (rip dimebag). The second one is a pretty shitty audio recording of Comfortably Numb for a live show in Norway but its honestly probably the best i’ve ever heard from Gilmour, it doesn’t sound like him at some points to be honest with the style changes, but I think it’s his absolute best performance.
And Floods has always had a special place in my heart, me and my uncle would crank Pantera alot in the past while cruising. Amazing outro
Saw Down there
Saw Pantera in their hay day AND open for Metallica
Sweet disposition would get me every time.
Oh dude being an opener for Metallica has got to put some pressure on anyone, holy cow. That show sounds like it was insane
Epic… Metallica setlist was kinda meh but had Harvester of Sorrow, Creeping Death, Seek…
