Wow those pictures are incredible!

Are you a former or current NYHC fan?

Me??

Mark1993 above. @marine77

Coincidentally I do… Agnostic, Sick of it All, Murphy’s Law… huuuuge Misfits, Samhain, Danzig fan

Here is the greatest album cover of all time, jacked up Zappa crushing the neck of a Fender with his superior grip and swatting at flys.

Had his passion been lifting he’d of looked that good, but his passion was music and worked day and night on it.

His geetar solos were way ahead of the times. Montana was a shredder from 1973 that sounded like the 80s rock monsters.

Chungas Revenge had the heavy sound before Black Sabbath and Deep Purple

So many good live versions of them.

He’s a genius

Did you know that FZ actually really loved Tony Iomi’s playing and hung out with them?
There is an article that @zecarlo posted about a month ago that sheds light on this. A long standing favorite of Zappas was Supernaut. Ridiculous chainsaw of a riff. Cuts straight to the core of metal.

Edit:

Correction. It was in a different thread, but from Z.

Wild, huh?

Supernaut is killer… Symptom of the Universe is killer too

Ruth Underwood on Zappa. The Orange County Lumbertruck which is part of Oh No is some heavy stuff!

Old man Zappa in 1988 showing he’s still the OG of rock monster geetar, amazing solo at 2minutes-

Yeah.

The bassist for Sabbath Butler who was the band leader was a fan of Zappa and saw the early Mothers perform which would have been an inspiring moment for all musicians to of witnessed.

Ruth Underwood was one of those who attended Mothers performance and changed her life regarding music.

I have heard versions of Chungas Revenge from 1970 where the intro is the heaviest thing you’ll ever hear for that time (heavy, not fast, but HEAVY)!

Also Smoke on the Water was inspired by a Mothers show when someone shot a flare on stage.

I thought the stage burnt down from the flare hence

“Smoke on the water… a fire in the sky”

Zappa lost all his equipment in the fire too.

I at one point in my life owned over 55 Zappa CDs.

I had all his releases except Yellow Shark, LSO, and Orchestral Favorites.

I had this collection in my mid-late 20s

A lot of those CDs ended up skipping and having issues.

This guy did the solo (and song) justice lol. Him adding super heavy and crunchy backing riffage for the solo elevated it. Sounded freaking awesome.
