Taken- can’t believe I haven’t watched it till last night. Amazing movie. The main guy was a badass. Off the top of my head best movie I’ve seen this year
It had great acting. That chick who played the pop star actually came across as believable even though she was just a supporting role…which is rare for parts like that. Too bad they can’t make a sequel.
Taken 2 - This time, they stole the whole family tree?[/quote]
I am almost positive they have already put a sequel into development.
House on Haunted Hill (the remake one with Taye Diggs). Still decent, plus, the majority of the actors in it have since become pretty famous, including the girl who is now on Heroes and Famke Janssen from X-Men.

yes, but if my memory serves me right, Chris Kattan is also in it, so I guess it wasn’t good luck for everybody

Finally got Punch Drunk Love in the mail today, so I’ll probably watch that tonight. It looks like I’m gonna have to watch Taken, from the looks of it. Looked badass in the previews but with all the good word it’s getting here…
Anyway, I’m going to watch The Hangover asap. And probably Up and Drag Me To Hell.
It was a good role for keanu since he cant act, other than that It was ok.I would like to see GORT keanu’s gaurdian in the movie fight Dr. Manhattan from The watchmen ( the big blue guy ).
Also I watched " time crimes "
it was a spanish movie dubbed over in english about this guy who sees a naked chick in the woods behind his house and goes to check it out then gets attacked by a man wrapped in bandages and stumbles into a lab where he gets placed back in time about an hour and watches the whole thing happen all over again and tries to reverse it.My wife hated it but I really like the whole idea of time travel so I thought it was interesting plus the naked chick was hott and had awesome tits.
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Aliens
Cool Hand Luke
I forgot how fucking intense Aliens is, as I haven’t seen it in a few years. The last hour and 20 minutes of the film is pure, unadulturated action.
Agreed,
I think Aliens is very much underrated as far as an action movie, and Sigourney Weaver took it home with her badassery.
With all due respect, is it possible for Aliens to be underrated? It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. At the time it was released, it was amazing and I think it still holds up over the years. I can still watch that movie and get tense about the action.
I think it was one of the first examples of a sequel surpassing the original.
I say that because it’s rare that a sequel can live up to the original film. How many movie sequels suck compared to the original. I wish they would have done a prequel to develop the story about the alien ship and the origins of the alien from the first film.
I agree. I can think of maybe just a handful of sequels that were as good, if not better, than the original. CrookedCrown mentioned two of them already. It’s pretty rare.
An Alien prequel would have been a much better idea than some of the sequels and AvP movies they did.
Check out how close we were to something along those lines…

What?! Corky Romano was a masterpiece of cinema.

forgetting sarah marshall - russell brand is a funny dude. i think it’s nice that jason segel wrote the story. the whole cast was good. there were some stupid parts but overall a good, unique comedy.
