On the weekend that Wolverine came out, you went and saw “The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” ?

Man, what did you do to piss off your girlfriend that much ?

:)[/quote]

hahaha…yeah, Jfit, what kind self respecting man willfully admits to seeing a Matt McConaughey romantic comedy, in general? Worse yet, you said it was worth seeing in the theater. Seriously?

You couldn’t pay me to see that movie in the theater.

In true Dr. Cox fashion, I think it’s time to take away one of your Man Cards.

Nailed. Like Jesus!

(too soon?)

I watched the Shawshank Redemption three days ago…quite an experience.

“Get busy living or get busy dying”

Tried to watch Marley and Me.

Got about 3 minutes in. Shut it off.

Seven Pounds was pretty good.

I JUST finished watching Eraserhead. I’m scared, but I don’t know why.

:S

Edit:

Damnit I can’t get the ending credits song out of my head!

What?

What did you just say?

Did approval of a chick flick Mcconaughey movie just spring from your keyboard?

I…(sob)…I GIVE UP!!

3:10 to Yuma. Great flick once again Bale did a good job and Crowe did a great job as well. A really good father son flick.

I already saw Wolverine. And, I actually like movies like this, rag all you want, Oh well

I also loved the Notebook

Saw Wolverine last night. Was pretty cool, wish there were slightly more action sequences. Pretty good job on the story. I was a huge fan of the animated series 15 years ago, so this was pretty cool. Wish Gambit had a better role and a more prominent actor. Need to rewatch the X-men trilogy.

And I loved the Notebook too =).

I just watched the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still. While I haven’t seen the original movie I figured that could be better so I can see this movie from a clean slate without knowing what to expect, how it ends and so on.

So straight up, I enjoyed this movie. It wasn’t the best movie I have ever seen but it just had something to it that kept my attention. I also enjoyed Klatuu played by Keanu Reeves. I thought it was very well done, his expressionless face and monotone voice perfectly suited the character in my opinion. Jennifer Connelly did a good job too, something about her eyes just floors me every time I see her though.

The effects were outstanding too, and the robot ‘thing’ who’s name escapes me at the moment looked awesome. I know in the original the robot was smaller and more human sized but I think the monstrous size added to the element of sheer power.

Any who, check the movie out if you haven’t seen it. Though for those who have seen the original you might be let down for reasons I’m not exactly aware of. I bought the special edition of the movie which does come with the 1951 version, so I’ll be sure to eventually check it out and see how they compare to each other.

Best movie to watch if you wanna scare your girlfriend!

I haven’t posted in this thread in while. If I posted detailed info about every movie I saw in the past three weeks on this thread, the post would be a page long. I’ll just go over some of the highlights.

My Bloody Valentine 3D - Tried to watch it in 3D with the glasses and became cross-eyed after 20 minutes. Movie sucked otherwise.

Oldboy - I know people really love this, but I just didn’t get it. Probably didn’t help that I keep dozing off during the movie. Not because I was bored or anything, but I was just really friggin tired when I watched it.

The Thirteenth Floor - Was just okay. Didn’t do much for me.

Religulous - Thought it was okay even though Bill Maher annoys me.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - Was okay.

Danny Roane: First Time Director - Kind of funny at first, but then felt like the rest of the movie was the same joke over and over.

The Uninvited - Dumb

He Was a Quiet Man - Didn’t really care for it, but Elisha Cuthbert shows her boobs.

Happiness - Liked this. Totally f-ed up movie staring Phillip Seymour Hoffman. When I say f-ed up, I mean it in that good way where there’s lots of really uncomfortable moments that are both cringe inducing and hilarious.

Incendiary - Bored the hell out of me.

Last Chance Harvey - Dumb

Across the Universe - Way to fuck up The Beatles!

Shadow Boxer - Interesting movie. Wasn’t expecting to see sex scenes with Helen Mirren. Cuba Gooding Jr. was really giving it to her in one of them.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Thought it was good, but just waaaaaaaaaaay too long.

The Last Word - Just okay.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Fuck you, Fox!

Star Trek - Excellent!

Curious Case of Benjamin Button- long movie, but a good movie.

Angels and Demons- It was a tad better than Da Vinci Code and had a fun “race against time” element going on. Although there were some points where continuity didn’t match up. A couple parts had me thinking “they don’t have time to be doing this. Get back on the case!”. The ending could’ve been tightened up as well. I’ll catch it on cable when it comes on.

Oh, I forgot…

Australia- Ok, imagine you’re watching Pearl Harbor, and make these changes:

Give them all Aussie accents,
Add a cattle drive
Add racial tension

then…

Remove half the action

then

Make the movie about 20 minutes longer

That’s Australia The Movie

You forgot

Add needless glory shot of Hugh Jackman washing himself.

then

Do bizarre closeups of Nicole Kidman acting weird.

I watched “Dance of the Dead” last night. I love corny zombie movies… and I was not disappointed.
