Just watched Clear and Present Danger last night. Probably will watch No Country for Old Men tomorrow night.
I watched “the House Bunny” and I wasn’t disappointed, but I wasn’t expecting anything.
“Quantum of Solace” which I liked and I very much want to go to Siena, Italy now. I am loving Daniel Craig as Bond. What I like about the new story lines and bad guys is they are not like bizarre, super villain freaks, but more like despicable Enron or AIG execs that really can break up an economy and blackmail nations. Well not liked, but more believable.
I finally watched Sweeney Todd last night. Should’ve watched it sooner because it was a great movie, and I normally LOATHE musicals. Other than the ending scene that grossed me out, this movie was really well done.
RockNRolla - not so good. It had it’s parts, but it’s no Snatch.
Up next :
Quantum of Solace
Transsiberian
Tell No One
The Ruins
21
X-men Origins… Wolverine… I didn’t like it as much as I thought it would. Character developement happened so fast I had trouble believing these guys were so tight. And the interaction/history between Sabretooth and Wolvie? And the end? Please…
But I do like the characters, and the action was ok.
1.Body of lies-I really liked it and watched it on my way over to the mid-east so it made it even more interesting.
2.Valkyrie-It could have been cool but IMO it was pretty lame and kind of slow.
3.Conan the Destroyer-I love Arnold
4.Knowing-(new Nicholas Cage flick)This was okay but was similar to every Nick cage movie. Same kind of suspense just a little different story
Oh and I forgot
Transporter 3-Mindless mental masturbation…I want those hours back
Wolverine- watched twice, good movie. Not as good as X2, but few are. Better than X3.
Haunting in CT- what a piece of crap that was
Big Fish- made to watch this, actually a pretty good movie
Adventureland - Pretty good. Not quite a comedy (by modern standards) and not quite a drama. You won’t laugh outside of Bill Hader’s freakout and maybe some off-lines. Glad to see the director of Superbad take a different route. The lead actor was really great in The Squid and the Whale and plays a similar part here - a more thoughtful, depressed Michael Cera.
Charlie Wilson’s War - Hoffmann was awesome. I actually enjoyed this despite the presence of Julia Roberts. Definitely not earth-shattering. This was directed by Mike Nichols who also directed The Graduate (which I just saw recently).

Thanks for the review. I had planned on seeing it Sunday morning, but ended up not having the time. I had heard good things, but I was hoping it would be funnier. Oh well…still sounds like it’s worth seeing.
Hoffman made that movie worth watching (as he often does). The movie itself, like you said, was not earth-shattering. I actually don’t remember much about it at all outside of Hoffman’s performance.

Adventureland is like a heavier Superbad. The coming-of-age theme being what they have in common. I would definitely recommend seeing it.
Ha, because I mentioned The Graduate I thought you were talking about Dustin Hoffman. Either way, the Hoffmans stole the show. Philip Seymour Hoffman is just a pimp. I have Capote, the role that got him the Oscar, to watch next.

The Game Plan - If anyone wonders why The Rock’s movie career hasn’t taken off, this movie is why. Disney apparently likes to kill action stars with bad family movies (see Vin Diesel). I still think The Rock can recover from this though. I thought he was good in Get Smart. I haven’t seen Race to Witch Mountain though.
Lake City - Awful, boring ass movie that felt like it was about 3 hours long. The characters were terrible for the most part and it was a total waste of Sissy Spacek. It was kind of interesting to see Dave Matthews act, but that’s about it.
Bedtime Stories - What is it with Disney making terrible movies? Not that Adam Sandler is known for always knocking it out of the park, but even for him, this is pretty bad. It really felt like he was intentionally holding back here cause this was a kids film and I thought it made him uncomfortable to watch at times.
Anyway, it’s a terrible movie. I can see kids laughing at it, but it’s not entertaining for anyone else. I can’t believe Guy Pearce even agreed to be in this. He’s better than this.
Seven Pounds - I really wanted to like this, but it just didn’t work for me. It was way too slow and took too long to get to the point. I actually found the plot annoying. Will Smith was good, but I think that’s about the only thing this movie had going for it.

Quarantine- ^^^^^
The Tudors, Season One- This on the other hand is pretty sweet, especially since beheadings and boobs are proven performers. So far I’ve only made it to halfway through episode 2, where the whole Ann Bowlyn thing starts. And what the hell is up with her father, basically pimping his daughters? He needs to die just on general principle.

I love The Tudors! That’s the sort of thing they did in those days. Women were good for their vaginas and little else.
No, I don’t need a comment that we’re still only good for our vaginas…
Watching Sons of Anarchy right now.

…but that isn’t going to stop us from leaving one.
I didn’t really get into the Tudors (despite that I love the women they have on that show, especially Natalie Dormer). Got through Season One and haven’t felt compelled to watch Season Two. It might be because I watched series like Rome and Deadwood before I watched The Tudors and I feel like The Tudors is second rate compared to those two shows.

For some reason I really like The Rock. I think he does a pretty good job in his movies. I enjoyed Walking Tall alot, and The Rundown in which he both played leading roles; and I thought he handled them pretty well. And he really cracks me up in Be Cool as the gay bodyguard. I’m dissapointed he isn’t in more films.
As for Diesel, I recall him saying he didn’t want to do F&F2 because he thought it wouldn’t be a wise career move, so it amazes me to see him in films like The Pacifier. Guess he realized that was a dumb move seeing as he is in the new Fast and Furious, which I’m hoping is good.
As for Capote, what is that like?
Flippin’ through channels, stopped at “Baby Mama”. Actually watched the whole thing.
It was kind of fun/stupid.
One thing I learned from it: Tina Fey has a great pair of legs.

After seeing the 45 second preview, I came to this same conclusion. You could of saved yourself some time ![]()
Anyway, I watched:
Max Payne - Its not great, but I think you kind of need to have played the game to appreciate some little things in it. Same deal with Hitman. That includes the realism of him getting shot with a shotgun in the hips at a distance of <1 metre and it not affecting him at all.
Body of lies - To be honest I was expecting more, but still a pretty good movies. Dicaprio does a good job, as well as look rediculous with a beard. I predicted the ending about 30mins before it, but it was pretty well done. I liked The Kingdom with Jamie Foxx more though.
Burn After Reading - Not bad. Don’t know if I would watch it 4 times like some people here :P. The ending was pretty fucking funny imo. I like how while watching it your just as confused as the CIA boss thinking “wtf am I watching?”
