Movies You've Watched This Week?

I liked Robin Hood with Errol Flynn the best.

Welcome to Sherwood!

I watched Hook today on AMC today. It doesnt matter how old I get I will never get tiered of watching that movie.

No offense, but that is the worst movie ever. Sounds like I was watching part of it on AMC same time you were.

I saw this in the theater.

  1. Robin Williams is horrible in this movie. It takes like an hour for him to do anything but act like the grown up Peter Pan…so you basically have Robin Williams, one of the funniest guys around, not being funny intentionally for half the movie. Then when he does start acting like Peter Pan he’s still not funny and he looks extremely gay flying.

  2. That latino kid that plays the head of the Lost Boys was horrible. The only good part of the movie was when he died and had one of the greatest ‘dumb’ lines ever:

Dying Latino Lost Boy: Know what I wish?
Robin Williams :What?
Dying Latino Lost Boy: I wish (arrrgh) I wish I would’ve had a dad like you.

  1. Julia Roberts was horrible as Tinkerbell. Not only did she suck at playing Tinkerbell, the movie was too cheap to put her in any scenes with anyone else because then they would have had to pay for special effects to make her look fairy size. The majority of her screen time is her sitting around with her big horse face doing that Pretty Woman Whore Getting Her Hand Snapped by the Jewelry Box Laugh.

  2. The kid that played Robin William’s son was really un-cute. He looked like he was cold and had a runny nose throughout the movie.

  3. Dustin Hoffman’s accent comes and goes throughout the film.

  4. The fat black kid that played the fat black lost boy could have ruined the film on his own when he says, ‘you’re playing with us’ during the painful to watch food fight scene.

These are just 6 quick reasons I hate this movie. I rememeber being really excited when I heard they were making this movie and then almost walking out on it when I went to see it.

I did see it later at a 99 cent movie theater and bumped into this chubby girl with big tits that smelled like bread I hadn’t seen in a few years and having sex with her that night and the next few nights, but that’s the only good that come out of Hook in my opinion.[/quote]

LOL!

This made my day

Hellboy II, again, still good.

“I know, I’m ugly!”

My youngest daughter and I crack up at that line every time.

Trying to convince the hubby to take me to see “The Toxic Avenger” Friday night at a midnight showing. He doesn’t seem to think it would be all that AWESOME.

:frowning:

Use your feminine wiles on him.

Violence, monsters, and boobies, and he DOESN’T think it’ll be awesome? What the french toast is going on here??!?!?

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me - still my favorite AP movie (I love me some Heather Graham)

Radio: VERY good movie that is actually about the real “radio” at TL Hanna High School (which is in Upstate SC close to where I am at)

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle: This movie is damn funny, the 2nd one is good but this one is the best, Chris Meloni does one hell of a job playing “Freakshow”

Toxic Avenger has been sitting in ‘Very Long Wait’ status in my queue now for several months. Clearly I’m not the only person that likes that movie on some level.

Just watched Desperado…one of the few Antonio Banderas movies I like. Also reminded me just how hot Salma Hayek is.

Revolutionary Road:

Anyone see this turd? Jesus Christ, go to France already.

Clubbed.

Great damn movie. It just came out in the UK yesterday apparently, but it’s available in the US if you look. Errr, so I hear.

Set in the '80s in Coventry, UK… a down-on-his-luck father who’s been kicked around in front of his kids ends up taking up boxing. Starts bouncing at a club with the guys from the gym. Conflict with bad guys ensues, naturally. Major props to Colin Salmon, who does a great job as the classic big, cool, tough cat.

This is the sort of movie Guy Ritchie would make if he (still?) knew how to make a good movie. It’s based loosely on a true story, Watch My Back.

frost/nixon. pretty good. langella was great, really great. great cast. sam rockwell, oliver platt michael sheen and the friggin fascinating mr. kevin bacon

Defiance- This movie is what Red Dawn tried to be; a real life account of people living in the woods while being hunted by foreign aggressors. Absolutely incredible.

Just watched Bonnie and Clyde.

Friggin’ great movie. Totally into the whole time, but some of the production is total shit. But then again, most of you guys have seen this and already know it all. Faye Dunaway was major sexy back in the day.

The Hills Have Eyes - I’m not really into these kinds of movies. They are sort of predictable. The ending was quite obvious. Good guy does away with bad guy. Drops gun next to ‘dead’ bad guy. Walks away. ‘Dead’ bad guy regains strength and uses dropped weapon (with seemingly unlimited ammunition) to shoot good guy. Good/bad little girl jumps in the way of the bullet and takes out bad guy. Ending scene leaves the assumption that there is more of the bad guys. Ah well.

Casino - One of my all time favorite movies on the tele last night. Bobby and Joey do another outstanding job as mobsters.

My Best Friend’s Girl - Utter crap. The worst part is that I read that they let Dane Cook improvise heavily throughout the movie, which only proves to me how completely unfunny he is. Those were ‘best’ takes? There’s nothing clever, funny, or original about this movie. You can always tell how bad a movie like this is when there are several music montages throughout the film.

You also have to sit through a dance scene of Kate Hudson and Dane Cook, where Cook is just so ‘silly and hysterical’ that’s it’s almost too much to watch.

It seems like they picked that as the movie title just so they could play the hell out of that song by The Cars. I used to like that song.

Swing Vote - Like almost all bad Kevin Costner films, it was way too long. It was just about two hours, but felt like over three. I don’t even want to get into how completely ridiculous and implausible the premise is. The ending is kind of a cop-out too, but considering the rest of the movie, that’s probably a good thing.

Thr3e - Borrows heavily from movies like Se7en and Saw, but took all the worst elements from each and made a boring ass thriller, complete with multiple, ‘surprise’ twists at the end. A real waste of time.

Eden Lake - Had potential as it was well acted, but ultimately I thought the story was disappointing. A couple goes to camp out on a secluded lake. Then a group of punk kids harasses them and tortures them. I’m left wondering what would have happened if the couple had just left the lake once the kids started to harass them (and they had plenty of opportunities to leave before things escalated) or minded their own business in the first place. Of course that’s how all movie like this go, right? The ‘victims’ always do something that you think is ‘stupid’.

Birth - Creepy film starring Nicole Kidman where she believes that a 10 year old is her dead husband come back to life. When I say ‘creepy’, I don’t mean in the good way, I mean like creepy in that bad, borderline child porn kind of way. Boring movie overall with a pretty disappointing ending.

Disaster Movie - Next time I say I’m going to watch one of these movies, please just punch me in the nuts instead. I really do want to understand who is paying to see these movies in the theater and do they actually think they are funny?

I ‘watched’ some of that a couple of weeks ago. You must have missed my review. I’m sorry you wasted your time.

My Best friends Girl- pretty good movie. Cook is hilarious in parts, but sometimes tried too hard.

Swing Vote- ok movie, kept me interested.

AV- You have some high standards for movies.

Yes Man- ehh, had a few funny parts and kept me interested, but overall wasn’t that good of a movie

Eh, don’t worry about it. I still would have watched it anyway. I’m a glutton for punishment and I’m still trying to maintain my goal of watching EVERY movie that comes out.

Well, maybe not every movie, but I’m sure you get the idea.
