Quantum of Solace.
And it was epic, in the real meaning of the word “epic”.
But then again, I think all Bond-films are.

The Strangers - Awful movie. Filled with too many “no way would anyone ever do that in a real life situation” moments for me. I know horror/suspense flicks usually do that but this one was waaay to out there for me. I don’t recommend.
I actually thought that was pretty much exactly how most people would REALLY act in a situation like that. He didn’t know how to use a gun even though he grew up with one in the house (typical). They opened the door at night when someone knocked and thought nothing of the fact that the lights were off (dumbass - typical). With a gun, they still managed to get overtaken by two girls and a skinny dude with an axe (the average typical person who goes through life never expecting anything like that to ever happen).
I think far less people than most believe would actually be action heroes if in a similar position.

I can see what you are saying. Sure, he didn’t know how to use a gun but he figured it out pretty quick. That’s understandable. Answering the door when someone knocks, yeah, I can see that. But what I can’t understand is the rest of the movie.
SPOILERS
There is a radio in the barn, maybe we can call for help on that. Good idea. However, there is no way that a guy would leave his girlfriend alone in the house and take the only weapon they have to go to the barn. Especially when you know people are getting in and out of the house at will. I’m sorry, that’s just dumb.
If you show up to a friend’s house and sh*t seems off, would you quietly sneak around the house? I would be making noise, calling for my friend or whatever. But I guess I can kind’ve see why he would be sneaking around. Anyways.
You just shot your friend in the head, he’s dead, go back into the corner of the room and wait for someone else to stick their head around the corner. I understand that you aren’t exactly thinking straight after you just shoot your friend in the head but come on. You’ve got plenty of ammo, get back in the room and wait.
Why stay in the house at all? You’ve got a gun, you’ve got a knife, get out of the house and walk down the road to the nearest house. He just went to get cigerettes, there is obviously a gas station or something close by. Staying in the house gives the attackers all the leverage. They know where you are, but you have no clue where they are. If you leave the house, at the very least, they can’t sneak up on you if you follow the road. The attackers had an ax, you have a gun, advantage you. Get out of the house and run as far as you can. In a fight or flight situation my guess is they could out run their attackers because of all the adrenaline their bodies are producing.
If a creepy stranger knocks on your door at 4am once, ok, fine, no big deal. But if a creepy stranger knocks on your door again AFTER your boyfriend leaves, don’t call your boyfriend, call the cops! What is your boyfriend going to do, he’s not there. Besides, you just turned him down so I’m sure he’s not going to rushing home to see you.

What a horrible movie. I’m a Statham fan but I couldn’t sit through this. I just couldn’t get past the dialogue and the ill conceived casting.
Yep, it was a horrible movie as all Uwe Boll films are. For some reason I had hopes that In the Name of the King might actually be okay, but I was wrong. I don’t know why I keep watching his films thinking that one of them might eventually turn out okay.[/quote]
I’m not familiar with him but it was real painful to watch…like Blood Rayne but with less cleavage. More than anything the cast just did not make any sense. Ray Leota as a medieval sorcerer, really? Burt Reynolds? It hurt my eyes and ears.

LOL That actually makes me want to watch that piece of shit. Almost.

BloodRayne was one of his movies, too. He’s known for making really bad video game based movies that are painful to watch. And yes, he always manages to cast the weirdest people to be in his movies. I don’t understand how the actors are convinced into being them based on Boll’s track record.
Gabby, I’d recommend it if it was unintentional comedy, but Boll can’t even do that right.

Quarantine
At first it was oh no,hand held camera.
The first ten minutes was slow, but it
kept gaining momentum. I would recommend it-
a decent effort, especially for a horror
flick.
Step Brothers on DVD. Saw it in the theatres too…funny shit.
Watched The Grinch That Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey, with the kids. They like it, and sometimes that’s all that matters.

I actually enjoy this movie. I thought Jim Carrey did a wonderful job. Aside from the couple of parts I thought should never have been in the movie, I thought it was well done.
It’s a kid’s movie, why do you need a scene where the Whos are having a party and putting keys in a fish bowl? Seriously, what did that add to the story? Nothing. Kids probably didn’t pick up on that part or even know what a key party is. But did that scene add to the movie? No way.
Narnia - Prince Caspian
This was actually better than the first one. I thought the kids were irritating in the first movie.

yup; also didn’t think that the love interest needed to show so much cleavage

Agreed.
I finally saw “Wanted” and I wasn’t a huge fan. It was hyperviolent and I am not a fan of bloody violence to just make something bloody and violent.
I did like the building for the textile factory. That was gorgeous.
Watched Jaws with a friend who had never seen the movie and he loved it.
I also liked Hancock. I hope they do a sequel.
Wanted
Great movie. If you can make head shots artistic, you win.

So what did you like about it besides the camera angles and special effects? They didn’t even really get into the whole story of what these folks were doing. I guess this was a comic book or graphic novel? And why the torture/training scenes? Why would you stay with folks that tie you to a chair and punch you in the face?
I did like the building
LOVED the library

There is an alternate opening to the movie which makes it look almost just like how an “Assassin’s Creed” movie might start out. It was pretty clear to me what the intent was.
Why the torture training scenes? How can you kill someone or even be ready for heavy combat if you fear a punch to the face?
Why would you stay with someone who treated you that way? Ask anyone in a fraternity that involved any amount of “hardship” to get in.
This was based off of a graphic novel that was way more “cartoonish” in how they represented the world. This movie did a decent job of bringing that more towards reality.
Wanted - is that the one where they “curve” the bullet in the previews? Is it not as cheesey as they make it out to look?
Wall-E - watched it last night, thought it was alright. Not as good as I had anticipated. I’m a big fan of just about anything Pixar puts out but this one just didn’t live up to the hype for me. I did like the overall message though. That humans are over consuming, lazy idiots. Perfect message for a kid’s movie!
