I think Brenden Fraser needs to go back to serious movies because he overacts terribly in movies like these. I don’t know if it’s him or the movies he picks, but he always seems to have the cheesiest dialog and delivery. I cringe at the lines he said in the Mummy 3 trailer.

I thought he was very believable in Encino Man.

I’m curious to see how he’ll try to pull off Gung-Ho in the G.I. Joe movie.[/quote]

I didn’t know he was going to be in G.I. Joe. That’s a strike against the movie for me. Unless he somehow pulls it off.

Dennis Farina kills me. He’s the main reason I can still watch Get Shorty.

“They say the fuckin’ smog is the fuckin’ reason you have such beautiful fuckin’ sunsets.”

I remember Interstate 60. I saw that probably 4-5 years ago. Weird movie…

Get Smart: hilarious movie, not rolling on the form funny, but hilarious. 2 Thumbs up

By accident I caught The Fifth Element on cable the other day. I love that movie.

Mongol: usually don’t watch subtitle movies, but I enjoyed this one

Love Guru: ok movie

Moscow Zero - This sucked pretty hard. Sometimes there’s a reason a movie went straight-to-DVD and you’ve never heard of it. Shame on you Val Kilmer.

Mute Witness - A_K was right about this movie. It was just all over the place, yet campy and enjoyable. Plus, I had to appreciate the random Alec Guinness cameo.

Transsiberian - I heard a lot of people really liked this and it got pretty much good reviews across the board, but I just didn’t get it. I didn’t really like any of the characters, I thought it was paced too slow and thought the story was too far fetched. Basically Emily Mortimer is a boring, stick-in-the-mud that kills a dude (with a stick) that ends up being a drug dealer. Then, they get involved with the police and the drug lords and lots of double-crossing ensues. I couldn’t wait for this to be over.

Flashbacks of a Fool - I didn’t really like this either. I like Daniel Craig and I thought most of the scenes with him as an adult were funny, but the whole flashback sequence was just way too long. It felt like watching two completely unrelated stories.

Kung Fu Panda - I babysat my 7 and 3 year old nephews today and put this movie on to occupy them. While it was successful at keeping them busy for 90 minutes, I actually enjoyed it myself. I still think Pixar movies are better though.

Deliverance - For all I’ve heard about this movie, I was expecting more. Other than the famous scene with the hillbilly rape, I thought this was pretty boring. I will say that Burt Reynolds was a bad ass when he was younger though.

Get Smart - I actually thought this was funny. It’s not brilliant or anything like that, but I was entertained.

Idiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - I watched this yesterday and was very disapointed. I thought the acting was pretty bad and nothing was explained very well. I felt like the whole movie they were running around for no apparent reason. Then the whole sci-fi thing just kind of annoyed me.

Saw Juno. It was a good movie, I felt a weird vibe from her and Justin Bateman’s character although.

just turned on dodgeball and there’s a Testosterone and a RED KAT t-shirt in a display in globo-gym!!

just thought I’d share that with you

going to watch Pumping Iron today for some added motivation

Foot Fist Way- I was extremely disappointed with this movie, especially after Jonah Hill (of Superbad) said it was the funniest movie ever. All the funny parts were already in a trailer I saw, and the story was weak at best. I thought it would be at least as funny as Clerks or Trailer Park Boys, but it wasn’t.

I saw a clip of Role Models on the Daily show last night where the guy was in Starbucks…funny as shit! This clip alone makes me want to see it!

Yep. It was one of those movies that I was really looking forward to for a while because of the trailer and all the talk I heard about how funny it was. I don’t even remember laughing that much.

I was thinking that maybe if you were drinking with friends it might have been a little funnier, but otherwise, it was pretty disappointing.

I watched Zardoz, Death Wish, and The Long Kiss Goodnight over the weekend.

Death Wish was interesting. It’s like they weren’t even trying to make an action film, rather, they wanted to have a dialogue about society and the monopoly of violence.

The only problem was, they didn’t have Charles Bronson kill an innocent person, or show any negative side to vigilantism. But then, I don’t believe that the state should have a monopoly on violence, so they were just preaching to the choir in my case, where, for the average audience it would be a challenge to their values.

Zardoz was kind of interesting, but I would be hesitant to recommend it to anyone who wasn’t in college and high.

The Long Kiss Goodnight had some good action and Samuel L. Jackson was funny as shit, but it had some ridiculous fiery explosions that were very easy to outrun, and I found that stupidity really distracting.

I watched Perfume and Love Object last week. I liked them both, especially Perfume, which I thought was fantastic.

I loaned both of them to my boss, and he said he shut both of them off halfway through and that I have “issues”.

Of course, his taste in cinema, and his manhood, is suspect as he didn’t like The Road Warrior or Army of Darkness.

Death Defying Acts - Boring ass movie about Houdini and some lame ass love story. They could have called this “Houdini in Love”. It wouldn’t have helped though. It’s really disappointing too because I like Guy Pearce and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Sukiyaki Western Django - I was really looking forward to this, but I was extremely disappointed. I really liked the visual style of the movie, but I thought the action was just okay and the story was pretty lame.

When a Stranger Calls - Boring, not scary, and no nudity = SUCK!

trailer park boys the movie

I haven’t seen it yet because everyone keeps saying the same thing. I would rather remember Indiana the way he was when I was a kid…invincible and cool as hell.

I admire your restraint.

street kings. love forest whitaker. i like keanu reeves no matter that he can sometimes be almost robotic. it started out pretty good, went down hill into tv cop drama with duh ending.
baby mama.

some funny parts. good cast. okay.
red belt. i liked it from the start to finish. the corny parts didn’t bother me at all as it was a good morality tale and philosophical. ejiofor is riveting.
