“O Johnny! Your no daisy, no daisy at all…I guess the strain was more than he could bear.”

Val Kilmer was epic in that movie. One of my favorite actors if for that movie alone.

Did anyone see Thunderheart?, great Val Kilmer film (from the 80s i think).

I saw that in the theater.
Man how old are you?! lol i guessed only late 20s/early 30s.

I wasn’t too off the mark then  I was seven in '92. Back in the early 90s it still felt like the 80s to me.

The little of the 80s i experienced i mean lol.

I saw that in the theater. He just had a new movie come out today on DVD called Moscow Zero. I think he’s crossed over to the straight-to-DVD realm lately. The last few movies I’ve watched with him in it were all recent, but I don’t recall a single one of them going anywhere near a theater.

The couple I’ve seen haven’t really been anything great, let me know if there are any worth watching.

Mute Witness - I don’t know how this made it into my queue, but it enjoyed it. Basically, a member of a film crew who is a mute, witnesses a snuff film(they must have spent hours coming up with the title)being made after getting locked in the studio warehouse. The odd thing is, the first part of the film is very suspenseful(like if you have a heart condition, don’t watch this movie), then it turns into like a campy horror flick, and then turns into a far fetched action comedy. It was all over the place, but kind of a diamond in the rough.

Crossroads - Yes, the Briteny Spears one. I made it through about the first 15 minutes before feeling the need to drill holes in my face.

Ha…I’m adding that to my queue. Sounds like it’s right up my alley.

I agree with the direct-to-DVD Val Kilmer stuff though. Most of the ones I’ve seen recently were not good. I have Moscow Zero at the top of my queue though, so I’ll be sure to report back once I watch it.

Zack and Miri make a porno: it was ok. Had a couple of funny scenes, but overall I give it a 7.4

WTF? 7.4? Do you have some equation that you use to get that number? I can even see arbitrarily assigning a 7.5. You know, not quite an 8, but better than 7. But where do you get 7.4?
That was mainly my point to rate it a a low 7. The reason is the main actors Zack and Miri are really funny though but the ending leaves you hanging and expecting more. Instead you get some cheesy romantic stuff and the plot through out the movie could’ve been better written. If you’re going to watch it, wait until you can rent or see if you can download it from the web.

I’m pretty much sick of Seth Rogan. Name a movie that has come out in the last 6 months he hasn’t been in. There are none, I checked.

Maybe the the unrated version might be a little better?

I think for a movie like this, if there’s an unrated version once it hits DVD, it may be a little better.

Plus, I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt just because I’m a Kevin Smith nerd. I meant to see it over the weekend, but didn’t have time. I’ll try to catch it this weekend.

I was unaware of Kevin Smith’s involvement, this movie I will see.

I still stand by my statement on Seth Rogan however.

I was wondering about this too. I read an article where he said that after it initially received an NC-17 rating, he didn’t have to change anything, he just convinced what was basically an appellate board to overturn the rating and give him an R. So I’m not sure what more an unrated version will add to the theatrical version - probably more breasts and gross-out stuff, but will it really make it a better movie?

Wait, more breasts = better movie, right?

Um…DUH!

Any one see The Salton Sea? I thought that was a really good Val Kilmer, that I had never heard of untill my room mate got it.

While I was in line, several kids were told they could not see that movie from the guy selling the tickets. They said they were old enough but did not have id’s.

This movie had several sex scenes and a frontal shot of a dude, but yeah, more breast for me does equal a better movie…

Mute Witness - I don’t know how this made it into my queue…
Trivia Point: “Mute Witness” was the title of the book (By Robert L. Pike)that the Steve McQueen film “Bullitt” was based on…

Interstate 60 - It’s basically about a guy that makes a wish on his birthday and then goes on a journey on a mysterious highway where weird shit happens and meets interesting people. I’m on the fence about this one. I felt the story was kind of cheesy, but it had some fun moments, It had a great cast for the most part. I’ve always liked Chris Cooper and Gary Oldman and it has some other interesting cameos. I guess my only issue was that it starred James Marsden, who I just think is a dork.

Kinsey - I liked this. It’s basically the story of how Alfred Kinsey went from being a entomologist and teacher to his controversial research into human sexuality. I thought it was an interesting story. Great cast and well acted.

Cruel Intentions - Here’s another movie I never got around to seeing. I didn’t think this was anything special. I actually thought the ending was pretty stupid. He gets hit by a car and dies? Pussy.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (3D) - It’s really annoying to watch a movie that was originally shown in 3D in regular 2D because now all the lame shots and camera tricks don’t work. You’re left wondering, “Why is he holding the tape measure like that? Oh it’s because it was supposed to be 3D.” Anyway, I thought this was pretty lame.

Felt like a kids movie and looked very cartoonish in parts, especially the CG Tyrannosaurus at the end. The dialog and acting were terrible too. I think Brenden Fraser needs to go back to serious movies because he overacts terribly in movies like these. I don’t know if it’s him or the movies he picks, but he always seems to have the cheesiest dialog and delivery. I cringe at the lines he said in the Mummy 3 trailer.

going to watch V for Vendetta again tonight because its guy fawkes night  (just thought I’d share that with you all)

I thought he was very believable in Encino Man.

I’m curious to see how he’ll try to pull off Gung-Ho in the G.I. Joe movie.

Oh, I rewatched Snatch after seeing RocknRolla this weekend. It’s still funny as hell, with Dennis Farina getting even funnier each time I watch it.

Encino Man is the film of my youth. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen that movie, must in the millions.
