I just watched Hancock last week.
Charlize Theron. Yummmm. Can she ever look not hot?
She really suits the role of an ass-kicking femme fatale.

Yes.

The Wire: Season 5 - I’m finally done! What a great show. It didn’t end the way I was expecting, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t satisfying.[/quote]
Season 5 was a total downer IMO. I know they liked to keep all the situations as real as possible, but come on, a little extra action would’ve been great. I would’ve LOVED it if the greeks killed Marlo for killing Prop Joe. Of course, either way they’d still have to deal with Little Charles and the rest of the co-op bozos.
Movies I’ve watched:
Stand By Me: Bittersweet in a way because it made me remember how great an actor River Phoenix was and that we’ll never know how great he could have been. It’s pretty crazy to realize Jaoquin wasn’t always the best actor in the family.
Oh yeah, I got Iron Man on Blu Ray, which is still awesome. One of the deleted scenes made the Playboy mansion look like a truckstop whorehouse.
Goodfellas
Raging Bull
I’ve watched a bunch of crap so far this week:
Tortured - Despite having a good cast (Cole Hauser, James Cromwell and Laurence Fishburne), this movie did nothing for me. The whole plot was contrived and I thought they tried way too hard with the ending, which was predictable anyway and the cover of the DVD actually gives part of the ending away. Fucking stupid.
The Neighbor - Piece of shit movie starring Matthew Modine and Michele Laroque that the previews led me to believe was a comedy. It’s not a comedy, nor is it amusing or even entertaining. I pretty much hated everyone in the movie except for the main character’s daughter. Yet another one of those movies that could have probably been over in 15 minutes if the characters would have actually sat down and talked like normal human beings.
War, Inc. - What in the hell was this? A comedy? A satire about the war? What a mess of a movie. It was all over the place. After the first 15-20 minutes, I thought it was going to end up being pretty funny, but then the story just went to hell. Plus, the Cusack’s already did a movie about being a conflicted mercenary/hit-man. That movie was Grosse Point Blank and I recommend you just watch that instead, as it’s better than this shitty movie.
I had the misfortune of watching “Babylon A.D.” last night. After reading the backstory it seems Fox studio took over the production from director Matteiu Somethin-or-other because it went over schedule and over budget, prompting the director to call it a piece of junk afterwards.
Sorry buddy, but the 90 minutes that made it on screen was a bloated pile of shit. If he spent 5 years developing this movie, he should’ve spent some time trying to make it with less effects because it would’ve had more of a post-apocolytpic feel he was going for. What a waste.

I warned you.
And yes, War Inc sucked pretty big balls as well.

Yeah, you did warn me. You know me though. I have to watch everything.
Movies like those are reason why I wish I didn’t always have this compulsion.
Mother of Tears - I could barely watch this. I hate horror flicks that take themselves too seriously.
Stuck - Loosely based on a true story, which made the ending very satisfying. But then, I read up and found out that’s not how it really happened. Hollywood needs to stop with the whole ‘based on true events’ shit and then totally make up half the story. Why even say that when the conclusion is completely different? Way to mislead your audience up front. Fuckers!
Mongol - Felt a little too long and a little slow in parts, but I liked it. My only issue with movies like this is the inevitable Braveheart-meets-Return of The King-CG climatic battle scene. It’s just getting too predicable. Oh here come the archers. Tell me nobody saw that coming.
The Happening - Yes, it sucks. However, I took ProfX’s suggestion and watched it for the unintentional comedy. I found myself laughing hysterically at several parts of the movie. The dialog and acting are just so horrible in it at times. Only George Lucas is capable of worse dialog and character interaction. I used to like M. Night. Now I feel like I owe him a punch in the gut.
You Don’t Mess With The Zohan - I really wanted to hate this movie. It’s not good at all, but I still found myself laughing at a few of the scenes. Sandler is one of those guys that I say I’d like to hit if I ever saw him in person, but I don’t think I could make myself do it, because he somehow makes me laugh even when I don’t want to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he’s any kind of comic genius, but sometimes he just makes me laugh.
Righteous Kill: I think the entire budget of this movie was spent on the acting fees for DeNiro and Pacino because it looks really REALLY cheap. There were a bunch of scenes where the lighting was so poor all I could almost hear the director saying “we didn’t have enough money to have a makeup person on set every day, so I decided to shoot these guys in the dark. That way we can’t see how old they really look.”
The story and little bit of action were incredibly rushed too. The murders would’ve been more exciting if some tension was built up first, but that never happened. It was see bad guy, shoot bad guy, then cops on scene the next morning. It was like being hustled out of a busy restaurant.
I watched Idiocracy, and little direct to DVD flick called Dinner Rush.
I liked Idiocracy,, it was funny, but not as funny as the premise sounds when you describe the movie. I can see why they didn’t release it in theaters.
Dinner Rush was ok. It stars Danny Aiello, who is a mob connected restauranteur in New York City who’s little family restaurant has become a very trendy night spot, thanks to his son the star chef. It flashes back and forth between the action on the floor and in the kitchen, with a little bit of Gangsta action in the bathroom. It’s pretty good, but what you expect with direct to DVD.
I saw Quarantine last night. Uhhhh I can’t talk too much about it without spoiling things, but it is worth seeing.
Wasn’t so much scary as it was thrilling to me, but that may be different for people that are unlike me in their horror movie thought-processes. I usually think through things so much that I end up laughing at the most frightening part of the movie.
Take for example the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. When the massacre dude was chasing one of the characters outside through rows and rows and rows and rows of laundry, I couldn’t help but wonder why they had so much laundry to begin with. I almost got kicked out for laughing too loud. ![]()

I saw this the other night - pretty stupid movie actually, which I’ve come to expect from Adam Sandler. Yes, I laughed at some scenes, but it’s just too overdone to be enjoyable. The fact that he’s banging all these 80 year-old women is fucking lame too. Stereotypes run rampant and the movie almost made me think twice about eating Hummus again.
Run Fat Boy Run: A bit cheeky at times, but definitely funny. The main character was great - loved the scene where he is trying to relieve himself of “scrotal rash.” I tend to enjoy English comedies so perhap I’m a bit biased.

I thought the sex with old lady stuff wasn’t funny and way overdone. I didn’t see the humor in that at all. You know what Sandler is? He’s that annoying person you know that can be funny, but you don’t want to encourage him by laughing at anything, because once he knows you’ll laugh, he won’t quit doing it.
The Pulse II
B movie that was actually better than the first one because of the deeper story line and an increase in the creep factor.
Eastern Promises - watched it last night, it’s about the russian mafia in london and it’s pretty good, it’s got that dude who played aragon in LOTR as the main character
Blood Diamond - just got round to watching this a couple of nights ago (had the dvd for months though) ans was very impressed, highly reccomended
Empire Falls - I’ve seen this movie(actually two movies)I don’t know how many times and it seems to get better every time I watch it. Ed Harris and Paul Newman are amazing in this movie.
Speaking of Sandler, I saw “Reign Over Me” last night.
I thought it was a good movie and Sandler’s acting was pretty solid. Of course, it helped having a vet like Cheadle there to push him.
Watching Star Trek Nemesis right now…
Saw Sex Drive today.
I like stupid, juvenile movies, so it was a fun movie.
