Its seems like the older I get the less and less I binge on Star Wars but I can feel one coming on. Bout to pop ANH in and get my geek on.
But I watched bench warmers yesterday and Hellboy today. I never get tiered of watching that movie

In one hour and twenty minutes I will sit back and enjoy one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made. We are of course talking about “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”. It’s on encore2 so no commercials.
just finished seeing “Igor”. i know it’s for kids and animated but it was great. humor was on adult levels. getting ready to rewatch “Betty Blowtorch and Her Amazing True Life Adventures”
Casablaca. Right now. PBS rocks.

can’t wait for the second one to hit dvd
Bigger, Faster, Stronger
It’s out on DVD
I watched a bunch in the past 2 weeks… I dvr them from HD Movies and IFC.
The Pianist. 8.5/10
The Player. 8/10
Wall Street (own it) 9/10
The assassination of Richard Nixon 8/10
The delicate art of the rifle 6.5/10
Dallas 362 6.5/10
This is me trying to be a movie critic…
I saw Eagle Eye on the new IMAX screen at my local theater Saturday evening. I thought the action and even climax were great, but the cool down at the end was a letdown.
One thing is for sure, I know I will only go see Watchmen if it’s on the IMAX. Seeing the trailer on that screen was like seeing it the first time all over again.
watching true blood. good stuff. sons of anarchy is pretty good, too. at the movies appaloosa was pretty good. last week watched 30 days of night and charlie wilson and they were great.
I saw Choke it was pretty awesome, if you liked the book you’ll most likely enjoy the movie.
The only thing that pissed me off was that they changed the ending why the fuck would they even think of doing that?
oh well other than that great movie.

Thanks for reminding me!
I just finished watching “Pathology” it’s a medical thriller movie with no really big names. Milo Ventimgilaia (or whatever) is in it.
It wasn’t that good. The premise was good, but the way they pulled off their capers was so over the top.
and I also kind of hate shock value gore, violence and attitude. It’s boring.
for the guys though, lots of boobs and sex scenes and lesbian kissing

I’ve had next Tuesday marked on my calendar for a while. Iron Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Bigger, Faster, Stronger. That’s a good movie day right there.

I almost rented that today. I didn’t think was going to be very good, but you know how I’m a sucker for bad thriller/horror films.
You did, however, confirm that the movie has lots of boobs in it, which is what I was counting on when I do get around to renting it.
Snow Angels - Stars Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsdale. Totally depressing story, but it’s well acted. There are some kind of funny parts in it, but in that weird way where it’s not meant to be funny, but you laugh anyway. I’d say it’s worth watching, but don’t expect a happy story.
88 Minutes - This was just kind of blah for me. Pretty disappointing actually.
The Foot Fist Way - I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. There were several parts that had me laughing out loud, but I built this up so much that I don’t think it could have ever lived up to my expectations. I still thought it was pretty funny overall. This is a good movie to have a few beers and watch with friends.
Deception - I liked the cast for this one, as it stars Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor (who I’m still mad at for what he did to me in Revenge of the Sith). It started out well, but once it got going it became boring and predictable.
Run Fatboy Run - Another movie I was disappointed in considering who it starred. It was co-written by Michael Ian Black and Simon Pegg, so I was just expecting it to be a lot funnier. Again, it was a pretty predictable story and not particularly funny.
The Wire: Season Three - Still great! This season was very good.
I bought Rambo, Blade, and Robocop on DVD. I skipped to the good scenes since I didn’t have time to watch them all the way through. I might sleep to the soothing sounds of Rambo ripping throats and shooting people.

Hey! I liked Run Fatboy Run. But I am a sucker for feel good movies.
And I just got the Sith joke. Yeah, you won’t be walking or talking right for a while.
I had a weekend off for once but was sick as a dog, so I watched a few netflix movies that had been sitting around.
The Candidate staring Robert Redford and nobody else. Redford plays a regular guy who takes on the big bad republican in his run for Senator. Did I mention it was made in the 70’s? Yep, the 70’s. It was just a little over an hour and a half long, and by the time it was over I was fucking sick of the 70’s.
Cop Land with Silvester Stallone, Robert De Nero, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, and the liquid metal guy from Terminator 2. It was pretty good. Stallone was the nice guy sheriff of a small town made up of big city cops, some of whom had dirty hands. They push Stallone too far til he has to man up and take out the trash. Good stuff. I got the feeling it was the director’s first feature film. You’ll see what I mean.
Last Tango In Paris with Marlon Brando and some french chick who looked like a less cute version of Pam Beasley from The Office. Brando’s whore wife just killed herself, so he finds an apartment and a young french girl who comes over for sex. Butt sex. The only rule in their relationship is Brando won’t tell her his name, and doesn’t want to know her’s.
The French chick’s boyfriend was played by the kid from Truffaut’s The 400 blows, and just about every other Truffaut film, probably because he is the archetypal french douche. He was exceptionally annoying in this film, as he was making a film within a film, and these obnoxious scenes were intercut with the sex scenes. So you have 10-15 minutes of Brando oldmanfucking the french girl (including up the butt, his and hers!), then she runs off to be annoyingly french with her douche boyfriend.
Most of the dialogue was in English, which is good because french is slovenly language and Brando has such an interesting voice. You know when you wake up after a night of drinking your tongue feels twice as large and hairy? That’s how french sounds. I was in Paris a few years ago, and the only time I liked the sound of the French was I was walking down the side walk one afternoon and ran into a whole herd of french kindergardeners, and them speaking french was the cutest damn thing ever. And I met a few young women who sounded kind of nice too.
I don’t mean to sound harsh because I really liked Last Tango In Paris. Brando was batshit crazy, and the whole thing was shot on 70’s filmstock and looked really beautiful. I know I said I was sick of the 70’s, but Paris kind of always looks like that, so you can’t really tell.
Oh yeah, the liquid metal guy was Robert Patrick.

I was hoping for more satire and inappropriate humor. Instead, we got, like you said, a typical feel good movie. I thought his buddy was pretty funny, but they wasted Hank Azaria (and Pegg).

To wet your appetites here is the actual Pam Beasley, aka Jenna Fisher.
