Movies You've Watched This Week?

Saw Burn After Reading last night. It was really good. Not see it twice in the theater good, but pretty damn good. I laughed my ass off but can’t think of any particularly funny lines or gags. The comedy was all character driven.
Agreed. There was just a lot of absurd stuff in it (the chair) but it was hilarious. The ending just had me rolling.
Watched GlenGarry Glen Ross this morning. It was ok, based on a play. I’m not a big fan of plays and not a big fan of movies based on plays. There’s a reason why they are seperate mediums. It wasn’t a waste of my time, but if you’re interested, just watch this:

Did you watch it after I posted that clip in the Intense Movies thread?

I loved the movie though. I just though it had great performances across the board.

Yes, and unlike most funny movies you couldn’t describe a scene or a joke to someone who hadn’t seen it yet and make it seem funny, you just have to go see it.

No, I got it from Netflix weeks ago, and it’s been sitting on my shelf. I avoided watching the clip you posted because I figured I’d get around to it eventually and I didn’t want to ruin anything. It was a damn good scene.

The problem with plays are they are 90% talk, and movies aren’t about talk, they’re about action. Not Bruce Willis and shit exploding action, but you should be able to watch a good movie with the sound off and figure out what’s going on. Plays are about people sitting around a room having long conversations.

That’s a good point. I do know a lot of people that hated that movie with the complaint that it was boring and all they did was sit around and talk. I liked it as a nice change of pace, but I can imagine that had I seen the movie when I was in a different mood, I might have not liked it so much. I also didn’t know it was based on play when I originally saw it.

Dial M for Murder – I liked it a lot.

Since I’ve gotten Netflix, I’ve been going through and getting old stuff I’ve never seen and with that comes a lot of Hitchcock. So, far I’ve really liked every Hitchcock movie.

I also just saw The Incredible Hulk which was definitely an improvement over the one from 2003, but still far from great.

Im watching Jedi right now. I watched The Clone Wars earlyer today, I liked it cant wait for the show

Wish I could get my hads on some of thouse man eating tedy bears…I could make a killing!

See I don’t mind dialogue movies, and I thought Glengarry Glenross was great…really great. Plus, I’m in sales… and it’s true…coffee’s for closers.

Judging by your pearly whites you don’t drink much coffee. J/K! :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anyone know of a movie website where you can enter in bits and pieces of the plot and find out what the hell it was?

I just try searching online when I have pieces of info and I try to find out what movie they belonged to.

You could just give this thread a try. There are a lot of movie buffs here.

Well I tried google but had no luck.

I heard about it somewhere else so I don’t know much about it. Basically it’s about some girl, perhaps a runaway. She meets some old couple driving around a RV or something. They convince, or force, her into becoming a prostitute.

That’s all I really know. Any ideas anyone?

Is the movie called ‘What Alice Found’?

Here is the imdb link…

You’re right, that isn’t much to go on. I’m trying to think of movies involving young prostitutes.

Any ideas about who’s in it or how long ago the movie was made?

The only thing I can think of recently might be from last year called Trade, but that involved kidnapping.

There was also The Babysitters, but I don’t remember her meeting anyone in an RV.

EDIT: I believe Molotov gets the win on this round of “Name This Movie”!

We’ll be back after this short commercial break.

I had some serious freetime this week.

Schindlers List
Scarface
My Cousin Vinny
The Kingdom
Mystic River
I am Sam
The Love Guru
Resident Evil V
Alien Vs. Preditor II

Go to IMDB and click on “more” beside the search function at the top, when the next page comes up, click “power search” in the column on the right. It’s a good search engine, has found a lot of titles I was looking for with just random bits of information.

I just watched every episode of Burn Notice. Pretty good show! Lots of interesting narration on spy stuff, and also done in an amusing style.
