And who could forget the grand-daddy of all sad movies, The Green Mile.
Really if you didn’t get choked up at this you’re dead inside. I remember it was on one night before school a few years back everyone was still depressed the next morning.
I cried for the first (and only so far) time in front of my girlfriend while watching the Green Mile…

I watched this 2 weeks ago and feel the exact same way…
Same, I just saw it. Dog movies choke me up every time, but this one had tears flowing down my face.
Reminded me of my australian shepherd Al. He had lung cancer and got progressively worse for a couple of months. We went on vacation for Christmas and left him with a dog watcher. He died the day we got home. He limped over to my dad wagging his tail and just collapsed, it was like he was waiting for his family to get home so he could die. Fuck I need to quit smoking.
I can honestly say that I have never come close to crying in a movie. I’ve been saddened before, but never to the point of tears. Most of the time, I expect the sad stuff to happen, so it doesn’t affect me that greatly. I’d say the one that hit me the most was Up. It was beautifully done. And as far as Marley and Me goes, I guess I have no soul. All I could think of throughout that entire movie was “Nobody thought to actually train this damn dog???” Sorry. I just couldn’t get past it.
I made a deal with my former girlfriend that we each chose as movie to rent - mine: The Fast and the Furious (I was very young), hers: Dancer in the Dark (with Björk). Of course what ends up happening is that my movie sucks, and I sob all over the place at the end of Dancer in the Dark, which has just an awful and sad ending.

Not only did I not get saddened by Marley and Me either, but I thought the movie was overrated and boring. There was no suspense or climax, the plot was uneventful and overall the movie was just predictable. I say all this with my soul in tact! =)
