Motorcyclists, Post Your Rides

I want one of these…WWII Zundap with a sidecar and a machine gun. We had a great time tooling around the fairgrounds with this.

He expects 30 grand for that?

I think that is just barely covering the parts.

Is that what most custom bikes are selling for?

No, most true custom bikes (Exile is not a custom bike shop) are going from $50-100K. Exile bikes start at $30,000 UNASSEMBLED. You put it together. Assembled they start around $50,000. Check out OCC, they have standard choppers (not custom) and total customs (meaning nobody else has one like it, built to customer specs). Their customs are easily in the $70-100K and higher range. You pay for the fabrication and artwork. Are they actually worth it? Depends. Some people will gladly spend that kind of cash for a designer bike or a completely unique ride. Like most things, you pay a lot for the name. I just like the Exile look and could probably replicate it from outside sources for much, much less.

Prof, I see you on a HD Heritage Springer or even a Boss Hoss.

Exile is getting $50,000 assembled for a very similar bike appropriately called The Chopper.

The bike in the picture was built in order to forget a woman that drove my friend crazy. On the other hand, dealing with fabricators and procuring parts proved to be a pain in the ass of a different kind.

Was it worth $20,000 to personally oversee the build? I don’t know. He forgot the girl. After riding the bike for the first time (the last time he rode was 37 years ago) he forgot the aggravation. If you asked him he’d say the bike accomplished what he wanted it to.

I can beat that.

Here’s a custom motorcycle with a Lincoln flathead Zephyr V-12 engine. Saw this bike at Wauseon a couple of years ago. The radiators (and fans) are hidden in the saddlebags. Yes, I watched the guy start it and ride it around.

Way cooool.[/quote]
That looks unreal! Reminds me of the cobra ‘widomaker’ in bike form - as in it probably goes really really fast in a straight line & doesn’t turn

Too bad I got hit by a SUV ironically driven by my friend.I’ll put up the crash pics up. Here’s a pic before the accident.

When was this? We just talked about your bike a couple of months ago.

2002 Honda Shadow Spirit 750cc. It’s not much compared to some of the other bikes on this thread, but you could have knocked me over with a feather when my wife surprised me with it after I came home from a 3 month TDY. -IDMT

Nice upgrade Prof. You’ll have to check out 1000rr.com or 600rr.com sometime, tons of info on mods, maintenance, and all that good stuff. Haven’t been on 1000rr alot but 600rr has a ton.

Damn another moto thread!! Haha! Oh well here’s my love. '04 Candy Blue 600RR, the pics don’t do the paint justice at all. The ride is so smooth and tight it’s sick. Just put some Pirelli Diablo’s on this year and man are they sticky.

another…

Would like to take this baby for a spin sometime…

Thanks for the web sites. What kind of pipe do you think I should go with?

staintune pipes always sound the best imo but they are pricey.

leo vince is top notch imo too.
