Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

I swear these holidays always seem to sneak up on me.

Anyway have any ideas for Mother’s Day? What are you getting your mother?

Please help

Spa packages are always a nice treat, even if it isn’t the most creative gift.

I like to gift things that are well made. Liberty Puzzles are amazing. Some of them even have two ways of going together, one like a normal puzzle and another variation that fits with the puzzle theme and using every piece. Really amazing stuff.

Donald Trump merchandise may or may not be a big hit.

If raising you was more difficult than it needed to be, a very nice bottle of wine would be thoughtful. If you’re a particularly rotten child, some top shelf hard liquor can help her cope with how everything turned out.

If you no longer live with her, call her.

If possible, go see her. Take her out to eat, cook her a meal (and do the cleanup), go for a walk, etc.

Sacrificing one’s time is usually better and more enjoyable/memorable than one’s money for all parties. (Not that spending a little money on your mom is a bad thing! Do both if you can.)

Something that 1) she likes but would not get for herself 2) personalised stuff that show effort 3) spending time as @jshaving said

Some big hits

  1. Personalised jewellery (I got her an engraved jade necklace)
  2. Personalised Embroidery (would not recommend, this took 40hours)
  3. Make Brunch (before uni, when I was at home)

My dumbass listened last year when my wife said she didn’t want anything for mothers day. So I had to scramble to make it up to her the next day. So this year I made a plan.

Her birthday is today, and she’s had a lot of stress from every direction, so all the gifts are about being grounded. So breakfast in bed, heating blankets, silk bathrobes, books, gardening equipment, ect.

Because on mother’s day I want to tell her that since she is our universe, we decided to bring it to her. So I named a pair of binary stars after our two boys and got her a piece of jewelry with lunar rocks.

For my mom, she said she doesn’t want anything unless she can eat it or read it, so a book about the psychology of music and the weirdest chocolate I can find.

For my MIL . . . peace and solitude. From me.

A couple ferns or colorful hanging flower baskets to dress up the front porch for summer.

Some kind of nice tree or bush, like an azalea or a magnolia or something pretty to plant in the yard.

Wash/vacuum her car.

Some big hits might just be the perfect gift for some moms. Ask your local plastic surgeon if they have gift certificates!

The over 40 or 45 “up a cup” gift card.

For the moms that have everything but want a little more!

Pictures of the kids on something or in a nice frame always does the trick for the wife. My mother has gotten the same gift from me for the past 15 years, gift card to a local nursery/garden center.
