In America at least, I think our movie stars and entertainers are the most productive. Without them, we’d actually have to worry about how much shits fucked.

spoken like a true californian.
in what way productive? Do you mean in work output or in effecting a change?
if it is work out put I am going with factory line workers
if it is effecting a change, well then… what kind? Could be artists or writers… or could be carpenters or those folks that build roads.
and I suppose it would be subjective to the influenced population
People who mind their own fucking business. Unfortunately there is a bit of a shortage of them.

Hey, Escapism is big these days, what kind of American would I be if didn’t try and capitalize on that.
Accountants.
This is obviously a lame attempt to make myself feel important. I’m not.
Consumers. Without consumers, there’s no impetus for the entrepreneurs and creators – the architects, the farmers, the movie stars, the engineers. The consumption of goods and services produces the need for all who produce.
If necessity is the mother of invention, the modern mother of ‘necessity’ is consumerism.
Italians… without question more engineers, architects, scientists, and contributions have come from our culture than any other in history. I could be biased, but I am probably more correct that biased.
If productivity is the measure of output per unit input, then BY FAR illegal immigrants are the most productive members of society.
I’d like to say engineers, but I already get paid too much for doing to little, and I don’t even have a degree.
Butchers…this way I can choke my chicken while he cuts up my steaks.

You do that too? I thought I was the only one.
The average joe.
Think about it…
The most productive member of our society was Frank Zappa.

I think that’s completely wrong. If I had to say what culture had been most influential in that regard, I would say it’s probably the Jews. Off the top of my head you’ve got Richard Feynman, Albert Einstein, Wolfgang Pauli, Robert Oppenheimer, Jared Diamond, Milton Freidman, Abraham Maslow…and many others.
