Ice man on par with Galactus and Franklin Richards?? lolz marvel must have ramped up his abilities for the fanboys. Oh well.
That has to be a mistake.

Also, Cable?? Really??
No neither he nor Iceman can be said to be on a par with the majority of that list.

Iceman powers has been restricted by Professor X and by Iceman himself for decades. He was once possessed by Emma Frost and she used all his powers to their full capacity. When she did that Iceman was God like because he has the ability to control water at it’s molecular level.

I forgot what Cable’s powers were but I do remember them classifying him as an omega level mutant.
No shit? Huh… I didn’t know that. It’s hard to think of Iceman as powerful as the others.

Edit: I did reference via Wiki, just for verification.

Cable’s abilities are: Telepathy
Telekinesis : (Which he has to use to keep the tchno-virus from taking over his body and killing him.)
Technopathy
Enhanced physical attributes
Expert marksman and hand-to-hand fighter

I have a hard time putting him as the same class as the others, also.
The thing with Cable is for the vast majority of his stories his powers where greatly dampened. His full potential was never shown IIRC. Though I do remember a storyline where he was simultaneously supporting an island in mid air and fighting the Silver Surfer. Don’t remember the story-arc though unfortunately.
But, would you put him on par with the others on the list?
No Cable and Iceman are powerful but neither is one the same level as the others on that list.

a couple others from the old school that can hold their own
Spectre-supernatural being of nigh unlimited might whose mission on Earth is to bring the wrath of God upon evil men. can become bigger than Galactus. would simply teleport the Hulk into a sun somewhere in space.
DR. Fate- among the most powerful magical beings in DC Universe.
Black Bolt-King of the Inhumans voice can destroy worlds
Crazy Jane-Doom patrol member with multiple personalties, each with it’s own power

NBC picks up Wonder Woman show

Tom Hardy as Bane Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

Black Panther movie

The old school Dr. Strange was also pretty powerful.
Not sure if my post went through but Eternity in the Marvel Uni is stronger than Galactus and I believe the ancient one is Eternity now.
The Panther movie has the potential to either be awesome or really bad. I of course hope it is awesome that would be one character I’d hate to see ruined.

SHAZAM!
One of the geatest comic book stories of all times. And shazam would OWN superman. Supes can’t deal with magic and Shazam is not just strong but he is also mystical. Kingdom Come.
Captain Marvel would have a hard time against Superboy-Prime, however. He is not harmed by magic and is far more powerful than almost any other incarnation of Superman.
Superboy Prime was a pretty unstoppable and would annihilate Cap Marvel.
Barry Allen>Superman/boy/primes It’s been stated in the comics he’s too fast.

That’s just what his ex-girlfriend said.

Matter-Eater Lad. END OF THREAD.

Very true, he always had problems with high end speedsters.

Hmmmm, someone needs an intervention.

Matter Eater after ten years of service.

how deadly were his farts?

About Iceman: Its been mentioned that his powers are control over molecular vibrations essentially. High vibrations=hot, while Iceman can slow those down. Essentially, he has control over the entropy of the universe. Hence, the omega level status. He never has (to my knowledge) actually used his powers to that degree, however.

About Cable: He has telepathic/telekenetic powers on par with Jean Grey, but they can never manifest themselves fully, because he constantly needs to use them to keep a techno-organic virus at bay (thats why his arm is badass). Also, the series mentioned earlier where he was levitating an island while fighting silver surfer was Cable and Deadpool, which was an awesome read.

Finally, my vote goes to Thor. As if the avatar and name weren’t clues enough.

I followed that wikipedia link for Matter-Eating Lad and saw this gem:

Matter-Eater Lad does have one major moment of heroism though, saving the universe in Superboy and The Legion of Super-Heroes #251 by eating the previously thought to be indestructible Miracle Machine, though the energies of the device leave him insane for several years.

Wow, who would have thought this guy would turn into an all-powerfull mofo…

His arch-nemesis “Dark Admiral High-Fructose Corn Syrup” seems to have gotten the better of him. The next matter that lad eats had better include some insulin to take the place of his exploded pancreas.

Wonder Woman.

Her powers go beyond the page.

She has the uncanny power to always make you want to rub one out.

God damn this forum is slow today. Redstar you cannot tell me that Doomsday is not a DC Hulk clone. When the folks at DC got together to decide to create a character that can KILL Superman isn’t it strange that they just made Hulk with an a bone exo skeleton? That’s because Hulk.Is.Unstoppable.

Wol is right about the judgment criteria although. If were basing it on his criteria I still gotta go with Ben Richards.
Dude, really?

You are really going to act like DC is unoriginal when characters like Hawkeye (poor man’s Green Arrow) exist?

I mean, really? So any big guy is a Hulk clone?

I laugh in your general direction.

Ha.
Shit, you made a Monty reference? Mad respect  I thought you were too young for that…

The Crow

“His fuel is Pain”…

Captain Atom is pretty powerful. He went toe-to-toe with Superman bcuz he can radiate red-sun energy and can absorb pretty much any energy. He can also time-travel and such.

Superman can deal with any superhero of mortal origin simply by flying counter to the earth’s rotation, reversing it’s spin and turning back time and killing them before they have powers/are born. Like an extraterrestrial Terminator.

Yes, some movies are better off being forgotten…

^whoa…whatchyoutalkinabout?

The first Superman movie is wonderful.

I also like to take that scene as semi-figuratively. In that Superman did fly so fast that he himself went back in time, but we as the viewer could see the Earth rotate backwards because time was going backwards, not that Superman actually used his power to make the Earth rotate the opposite way.

Woah woah woah

I haven’t read the whole thread but aren’t you guys forgetting about the Omega level mutants like Iceman and Phoenix?

good interpretation…the last time I saw it I was 8…that’s how I thought it worked back then lol in any case, yeah, Superman can time travel…apparently :stuck_out_tongue:

okay, not 8, but you get the picture
