Most Pain You've Ever Experienced

yeah dude you’ve got to give us more background on the drain cleaner thing

Oh you just could not resist, could you? All the Hellraiser references in the world will not save you

Without hesitation: debridement.

Long story short, I was blown up and burned. Had some nasty areas. As it heals, they send sadistic little Filipino nurse (who would otherwise be hot) to scrape your skin with little wire brush and some sort of silvery goop that burned all by itself. They skimp on drugs because it’s the VA and anything the government does sucks.

To put it in perspective: getting burned, being burned, having busted bones and chunks of Humvee in ones’ body and a popped eardrum was about 1/2 as painful.

I pride myself on being a big tough guy and would start to fucking tear up when I saw that bitch (who was actually very nice, but will always be a bitch to me) come into the room.

I actually seriously contemplated suicide.

oh fuck! That’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard

I will in a couple of days. I have a certification thing and an interview to sharpen up for tomorrow.

Cluster headaches. They are described as the worst pain a human being can endure. If something hurts worse, I don’t want to know what it is.

A friend of mine had the same treatment over a large percent of his body and has said the same thing.
I can’t imagine enduring so many of those treatments for so long.

@Yogi1

I used to party with a bunch of guys. One of theme brother was an econ major at a local university known for its scalding science and math programs. Not wanting to be disturbed, he booby trapped the bar by putting drano into one of the bottles. So I was out partying the night before my birthday and the clock struck 12:00. Happy birthday! Let’s go raid the good stuff! So we hit the bar and the first bottle I grabbed and took a big swig of was the one.

It was all down hill from there. Or circling the drain, if you will.

He didn’t want to be disturbed so he created a scenario that amounts to attempted murder???

wtf? Well I guess in order to not be disturbed, murdering everyone seemed fair enough

EDIT: please tell me you kicked the shit out of him?

@anon50325502 It worked though. No one partied there anymore.

@Yogi1 Can’t say that I did, but a lot of people were very unhappy about the whole thing.
There was an investigation by the police, but without an admission of guilt, no crime could be proven. The civil suit, however, was enough to fuel several years of drug crazed ridiculousness!

well that sounds pretty sweet.

Still, what a thing to go through! Glad you survived.

I’ve been hit by a car going 50 mph, had a cavity drilled without anesthetic, been badly burned (on a small area), had a finger bone smashed to bits, etc. etc. Still, a stubbed toe or a wasp sting are as bad as or worse than any of those. The difference is, they are only really bad for a fraction of a second. I once dropped one end of a heavy canoe on my big toe. The nail bed turned black and the nail fell off a few days later. It was quite intense throbbing pain for the first few hours, but the peak pain was not as bad as a stubbed toe.

How are cavities drilled in the states if people name that among the worst pain they’ve gone through?? I didn’t take anesthetics in the dentist’s office even when I was a kid because I’m afraid of needles and I always got through the drilling just fine.

To be fair (?) I am guessing the kid had no idea this would have such severe consequences. He probably (?) just thought it would taste awful, the first guy to drink would gag and spit it back out, and that would be the end of it.

Awful thing to do? Of course. I’m just saying he probably didn’t realize how severe the fallout would be. I think it’s less “attempted murder” than “kid not really understanding that his prank could have turned out deadly.”

Wait…Skyzyk, aren’t you from Pittsburgh?

If so, I believe that I attended the university to which you are referring, lol

Sure, if he was 13… we are talking about a college aged “adult” here.

I was coming in to make a joke about the pain of arguing politics with @pushharder, but then I read this. I’m sorry that happened, and I appreciate your sacrifice on my behalf.

That’s pretty intense. I don’t know much about dentistry, and certainly not enough to give a detailed answer. For my particular incident, the pain increased in conjunction with the depth of the drill; had bad cavities as a kid and a couple of root canals.

Lol, don’t overestimate college-aged adults. Especially those in college.
