I get wound up when people (Americans) complain about the price of petrol (gas). Over here it costs about £1.20 a LITRE. I think that’s something like $2.10. So a US gallon would cost us $7.77 dollars.

Not dissing Americans here. Just want you to realise how lucky you are sometimes ;o)

TO get good groceries, it is 100 miles (160Km) one way from my house. How far do you have to drive to get decent food?

With all due respect Rainjack you have a choice as to where you live we don’t choose how much we pay for petrol.
With all due respect, I can’t live anywhere else. This is where my business is. I kinda own it, so I can’t just pick up and move.

Your gas has always been much higher than ours. You might want to take a look at how much tax you are paying for each litre.

I don’t know, but I have a guy at my work that looks suspiciously like him… I’ll try to snap a picture.

Edit - Here is the picture. Maybe texasguy moved to Philly…

RACIST.

I clicked on this thread not understanding how it could be 15 pages in a day. This was answered for me on page two with the pancake v waffle debate, then I really understood when the porn name aspect squeezed in (Puss Sunnyslope, btw).

Regarding the pancake waffle debate. Waffles are so much more consistant, yet average. Pancakes can range from terrible to great. There’s so much more variability with flapjacks. French Toast is even more extreme. Most the time it’s horrible and not worth eating, but every once in a while (getting more rare) you find a place that really knows how to make French Toast. Then it’s the best.

Annoying posters? The only ones who annoy me are the ones that don’t bring original thought to a topic. If I want to know what Chad Waterbury thinks, I’ll read Chad Waterbury articles. I don’t need someone on here regurgitating articles they’ve read. Some are even so shallow as to do it the very same day the article comes up. These posters also tend to be the ones who argue in circles with out ever bring in additional points. Thankfully, I haven’t seen this as much in the last year or two. Although, now that i think about it, I only read about 15-20 posters lately, so that may be why I haven’t seen it. The posters I read all think for themselves.

Whatever mental institution he was in took away his computer privileges.

Kind of along the lines of what X said, I have a theory that the most annoying posters are ones that don’t really lift. They like to hang out here due to some vicarious thrill but they don’t really last here year after year.

Agree or disagree?

Posters in the Politics forum don’t necessarily count in my theory though. Let’s face it, in that forum, people that don’t agree with you tend to annoy you.
I still doubt many of those guys lift seriously in the political forum. I find that more of a joke than anything else.

Posters like “JeffR” never…NEVER posted about training.

I agree with what you wrote though. This board doesn’t need people who don’t even lift.

I normally work on the premise that annoying posters (especially kids) will loose interest after a while and disappear.

As for the politics forum: I find hardly anyone annoying just because they have a different opinion. I do find the ones annoying who don’t only discuss and debate, but use insults and ad hominems (except for Rainjack - that’s just his thing  ).

Unfortunately, some (of the religiously motivated) posters are quite dogmatic and try to get at people personally when they seem out of fact-based arguments; or just because they feel entitled to once they’ve indentified someone they think they can ridicule (eg. lixy-bashing regardless of what he says).

Two posters have annoyed me though - Nominal Prospect (who declared himself a nazi) and that guy who ran the Alcohol, Women & Hooliganism thread (due to his nazi undertones and glorification of violence). Oh and that fucker who got T-Nation high on google searches on holocaust denial - with a thread that did get deleted by the mods. I think there may be a pattern here.

I think he may be just envious - being a nazi doesn’t help with getting girls.

I post on the Politics forum, I lift.

I don’t really care if “JeffR” trains or not if he’s posting on the Politics forum. Same goes for SAMA forum and even Get A Life. Someone who doesn’t train can still have solid ideas or entertaining stories, so I’m fine with that. I agree they shouldn’t post on training topics unless it’s to ask questions. Same goes for anyone with minimal training experience.

I think it’s really cool that EmilyQ came to this site as a nonlifter who was just doing research on us Neanderthals. She got hooked and is now a pretty serious lifter.

Don’t forget Mak that no one ever really wins in the Politics forum.

I agree with this.

The ones who are annoying are the ones who started training two weeks ago and attempt to hand out advice to others.

You don’t have to lift weights to be entertaining.

Push, did anyone ever come clean on that thread of yours and admit to not training? Not counting anyone who was injured or something like that.
