Morning Cardio

Hey I might be shunned for this, but I love cardio in the fasted state. I feel it gives me that extra bit if leannes that will set me apart from the others. AS far as duration goes, Ilike doing 30-45 mins. I make sure to pund the glutamine, but other than that my stomach is empty. I have seen no ill affect of this training style, although I dont use it every day, but I have gained great condition with it, and my muscle clarity has definately been affected. But I guess that is why you find what works for you, and dont worry what the others think.

Perro…You know, I knew my four semesters of Espanol would prove useful sometime–albeit for conversational purposes:-)

I believe that the statement was made by Tudor Bompa in Serious Strength Training. I believe a new edition recently came out.

So, you’ll be making your way to Dallas? That’s about three hours North, isn’t it? I’ve never been to Kirby Lane or Magnolia’s, but I’d be ready, willing and able to make it a possibility. Let me know when you make your way down, Perro.

Morning cardio on an empty stomach is gospel to many people. I never saw great results from it. One thing that is very key for folks to understand, is that one’s body burns a combination of fat, carbs, and muscle. It is a physiological fact that the slower you run, the more the body draws upon fat for energy, then with more intensity fat and carbs, then finally carbs and muscle. So, while EVERYONE reacts differently, if you are going to introduce cardio on an empty stomach, I would limit it to 20-30 minutes, and at a heart rate of about your age minus 220, and then 60% of that. Finally, I have lost significant pure fat alone, without doing cardio, with just resistance training. The key is diet. reduce your carbs, and you’ll reduce your bodyfat.
