Perhaps you understand the Church of LDS as well as you claim, but you clearly don’t understand atheism well enough to comment. There are many different philosophical and individual belief systems that could be classified as forms of atheism, many with wildly varying beliefs and values. Atheists are typically not extreme, outspoken, and dogmatic, but I fear you have been exposed to the most vocal of the bunch. The extremists that profess their hatred of religion are antitheists, and do not represent most atheists, just as suicide-bombers do not accurately represent most Muslims. I do not believe there is any truly objective form of rationality; we simply do the best we can with the tools we are given.
