More Movies You've Watched This Week

I usually don’t rep foreign movies unless they are really good…like Brotherhood of the Wolf (which if you haven’t seen it, you need to rent it very soon).

This movie is Norwegian made and is a decent slasher flick at least as good as anything that has come out of the US lately (including dumb movie actions that make you scream, “why the fuck did you do that?” at the screen)…however, do NOT watch it with the english voice over. The American voice actors suck at this and make it sound REALLY cheap and corny. The original actors did a better job even if you can;t understand them. Their voice inflections get the point of certain actions or comments across better simply because of culture differences.

Watch it with the english subtitles, but let the original actors voice this out.

What I hated about this movie - the fact that apparently it is “IN” to have the guys in movies suddenly act like morons with the smart, sexy, tough female star there to save the day and show how much of a survivor she is.

Why are guys in movies so damn weak lately? These “dudes” acted like women considering how quickly they were all taken out. I call bullshit.[/quote]

If you want to see another excellent foreign language film, one definitely worth repping, I recommend “The Lives of Others.” It was the 2006 Academy Award winner for best foreign language film. It’s from Germany.

I agree, I would fuck Columbus’s brains out.

The Happening - FAIL. Steer clear of this movie, it is nothing but a waste of the 90 minutes to watch it.

The happening? You mean the Mark Wahlberg/M.Night Sham-whatever movie?

If so, I agree. Avoid it.

i concur. also a complete waste is death proof

ones that started ok, but lost my interest after 15- 30 mins: transformers, the illusionist, snatch

Ah yes… Saw it in German, how’s the English version?
Thought that one was pretty good, but I’m also quite familiar with the historical background… I’m from former Eastern Germany after all.

whip it - sweet movie. great cast.

Dave - this was a good movie. Typical 80’s comedy about a guy who impersonates the president and makes changes to actually benefit the country.

Watched Wolverine again, I really like that movie, not as fun as Iron Man, or as “good a movie” as Dark Knight, but still a movie I enjoy, and I think its got a high level or re-watchiability.

I like Blade Trinity better then Blade 1, but maybe its just because Im a big Ryan Reynolds nut swinger.

ya know in Blade Trinity except for the close ups most of Westley Snipes shots were actually his stand in ? Patton Oswalt was doing a podcast and says he knows that movie was a bit of a clusterfuck, but that its amazing that any kind of movie came out of that production at all.

Snipes apparently would never leave character, and wouldnt leave his trailer half the time, would only answer to Blade, lots of crazy shit.

Not that crazy. I doubt Heath Ledger was breaking character on stage constantly while fliming Batman. One of the criticisms was that he may have gotten lost inside of the head of the character he created.

And, Trinity sucked for the very reason that they avoided focus on Blade only to try to make this into some super-franchise with the goal of giving Beal and Reynolds their own movie later.

That shit was “Blade and Friends” only with more focus on the friends and that weak ass lead vampire than on the character that made that whole franchise possible.

They killed off Whistler (possibly one of the best characters created from that) and surrounded him with the cookiest set of vampires ever (something Triple H only made worse).

Yeah, your man-love of Reynolds may be clouding your vision.

surrogates - i really liked it, could have been a bit more, however i tend to like long movies and this was only about 90 minutes or so, all in all a pretty decent movie imo

monsters vs aliens - always been an animated movie fan…

the incredible hulk (the edward norton one) - i think that the fight scene towards the end of the movie made it amazing to me, i liked the whole thing in general ( a fan of the hulk ) and that scene i feel actually started to show his strength a bit better, the movie industry, if they choose to pursue another hulk movie needs to really tap into his sheer power…

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I did see a scene where 2 girls tricked Woody Harrelson into giving up his gun. I suggest that rule #1 be, never give up your gun, ever.

The Remains of the Day- It was highly acclaimed but I’ve got to be honest; I was bored out of my mind.

Run Lola Run- Clever and exciting.

Closer- This was clearly an Oscar Snub for best picture. It’s a highly seductive piece and the ensemble is perfectly casted. Clive Owen fucking delivers here! He would probably be posting in SAMA. I definitely reccomend seeing this one.

Went and saw ‘Up’ last night. I honestly think this is the best movie Disney have come up with since PotC. And probably the best animated family movie since Shrek. I just kept laughing the whole way through it. It’s filled with really clever little bits that really added to the charm.
Probably my favourite animated movie next to Hercules and The Emperor’s New Groove.

I was really disappointed in it. Didn’t even finish watching it

Lock Up - an often over-looked Stallone movie, I watched it the other night and really liked it and found it HIGHLY quotable. Haha.

"One - I am Meissner. Two - Never fuck with Meissner. "

It’s totally 80’s and totally awesome…

Trick R treat

Very quirky, but that girl/werewolf hulk out scene was worth it.

It kept my attention all of the way through, and I like movies that jump around in a time line…but they often leave questions unanswered…like who was the other body that was buried next to the fat kid and that guy’s back yard?

This is not “scary”, but it is really fucking strange.

That short-bus story was also cool.

X, I gotta agree. I really liked Trick r Treat, I’m a huge horror movie buff and while this isn’t “scary” it really is worth your time.
