Saw Inglorious Basterds last night, holy shitballs that was a good movie.
Glad to see Tarantino is back after the last two ‘movies’ he was involved in.(Death Proof and some other crock of shit)
Watched Donnie Darko while lying in bed this morning. Needless to say I’m kind of angry and confused right now. Might have to watch it again to try and understand what the hell happened.

From what I gather, drugs/alcohol are needed to view properly. It is sort of like how meth/cocaine is needed to view UltraViolet without smashing your head through the tv screen.
clock work orange- i think its a real work of art and an interesting adaptation to the book, the slang and ultraviolence does it, sad that the english version of the book leaves out the end and the movie didnt include it
fight club-…cmon
cannibal holocaust-super gorry, nasty blood scenes
guy ritchie movies-i love the british scening and the twist in the end
the good the bad and the ugly-great western imo, clint eastwppd badass as usual
green street hooligans-good for a watch
a guide to recognizing you saints-another great coming to age film, i only recently heard about it, suprising especially with its star filled cast, including robert downey jr, shia lebuf, channing tatum, etc
kiss kiss, bang bang-good detective movie kinda funny
chronicles of riddick- didnt like pitch black as much
american history X-badass movie with moving scenes
The Enforcer - third dirty Harry movie. Liked it better this time than when I first saw it. A better than average action movie. And it has Clint Eastwood at his manly best.
Casablanca - Currently my favourite film. Absolute classic. Great performances all round. Tense, atmospheric, great one liners. Ingrid Bergman is the sort of woman I would instantly marry if I ever met one like her.
Yes Man with Jim Carrey. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great. It was entertaining and although the story didn’t really make you think the storyline could make you think about things.
and the beginning of the movie made me think of the guy who shot up the gym and if that was how his life began the slide into desperation
I was just watching MY COUSIN VINNY tonight for like the 5th time. I guess we can all pretty much agree that this movie is in the top 5 greatest of all time. A true classic.
Road Trip: Beer Pong - Sucked, especially when compared to the original.
Watchmen - Pretty good. Not as good as Spiderman or other recent superhero movie, but it did try (and fail) to give a deeper meaning to the movie other than just action sequences.
The Last House on the Left - Best of the three I saw this weekend especially because of Sara Paxton.
Open Season 2 - not as good as the original. It was pointed out to me that the voice actors were not the same - especially for the lead characters - which detracted from the second film. Where you at Martin Lawrence? Some of the secondary characters stayed the same for both movies.
Did some catching up on summer movies this weekend:
Terminator Salvation - was ok, was expecting much more from a film with the Terminator name on it, however I do hope they make another 1-2 of these set in the future and continue the story (hopefully they can’t be any worse than this one). This was my least favorite of all the terminator movies so far though. My favorite part was the nod to T2 when John was playing You Could Be Mine by GNR when taking out the motorcycle terminator.
The Hangover - it was pretty funny, but not better than Old School (which is what I had been told by several people). The best part was easily the ending. I don’t think this movie lived up to all the hype.
Bruno - not funny at all. Very disappointed in this movie. Apparently he set the bar too high with Borat and was not able to do it again with this movie.
Saw District9 yesterday, very impressed loved the effects and the story, mind you the accent can be a bit difficult sometimes (guess thats why they subtitled parts of it).
True Blood: So I jumped on the wagon and loving it. Lots of hot vampire chicks (Deborah Ann Woll is the hottest vamp since Kate Beckinsale), nudity, sex and blood… what’s not to like? Getting a bit tired of some of the plot twists though, can’t wait for season 3.
Adventureland: I liked it a lot more than I exptected too. It had some funny scenes but wasn’t trying to be funny all the time at any cost. I can’t really explain why I liked it so much, maybe I’m just strange like that. Definitely worth a watch.
Into the Wild: I really enjoyed Stewart’s performance in Adventureland, so I checked out what other shit she’d done and Into the Wild was apparently a very good movie so I checked it out. It really was very good. It was a bit long, but I don’t think it could have been shorter tbh. Very inspirational. Makes you wanna drop everything and everybody, and just leave. The best movie I’ve watched in a long time.
Average shit I’ve watched lately:
State of Play: Standard Hollywood thriller. Not worthy of another watch imo.
Fanboys: Was quite funny, but that’s about it. It lacked depth somehow.
Push: Just another action movie… freaky chinese girl was cute though.
Gamer - this is a different kind of movie. For all you gamer guys I think you will like it. If your character could talk to you, this movie would tell you what he is saying LOL. Gerard Butler is good in this, a little psychedelic but good. I would not make this a must see movie right away, if it came out on DVD you would still be fine.

It reminded me a bit of Running Man. While it’s not must see, if there’s any low price matinee theaters in the area this would be worth watching on the big screen once because of the effects.
Extract- This was funny as hell, with a few twists I didn’t see coming. It’s a great compliment to Office Space as this movie is told more from the point of view of the managers and how they deal with the “dinkus” subordinates. Even Ben Affleck is decent in it.

I didn’t think Extract would be much, but it seems to have gotten better reviews than I thought. It was either Gamer or Extract for me, and I guess I picked the wrong one LOL.
Liked it alot, though can’t say for sure why–other than I’ve had a crush on Kristen Stewart ever since I saw that movie whose name I can’t remember about the 2 kids that play that game that takes them to outer-space and they fight these lizard people and meet the astronaught that turns out to be the older brother’s future self.
Taken.
Finally got around to watching it this weekend. Not mind-blowing, but I’d watch it again. I like when the (Albanian?) dude realizes who Liam Neeson’s character is and old dude goes “I TOLD you I’d find you.” Only thing I can say is the climax was a little…unclimactic. Overall though a good movie.
I watched “All About Steve” and it is one of the WORST movies I have ever seen. It was so bad. It wasn’t funny, it was pathetic and kinda mean. And what is up with Sandra Bullocks face in that movie? She has the Renee Zellweiger lemony pouty thing going on and she looks cross-eyed and uber-tanned like a Palm Springs Cougar. Blech, not a good look. And she gave her character a speech impediment.
