do you ever do any unilateral work?
I know Meat might laugh- but it has helped me become more stable-
both in the hole and walking out

That is about the extent of it. Occasionally some step ups/lunges.
AM 30 minutes elliptical, half asleep the first 15 minutes. I heard the weather twice in the period and couldn’t remember what they said when my wife came down and asked me what the day was going to be like.
Feeling the after effects of the box squats today. Lower abs, low back, glutes, hams, quads all fried.
Great lifting Pete. I’ll be hitting the 14’’ box squats this weekend. My two boys used to play musical beds throughout the night. Hard to get a good nights sleep when they start roaming.

Thanks Eco. It happened again last night. At two a.m. again suddenly my wife woke up with him sitting on top of her. She got him back in his bed with out much protest, and I had to wake him up this morning. Bad habbit he is developing suddenly.

You need to do that now and again so you don’t blow out a biceps or something…
I would wake up in the morning and my wife would be in one of the kids beds and I’d have one or both kids with me and I was clueless when everyone switched beds. Remember parents of small children are supposed to be chronically tired. How old is your son?
He’ll be three next month. My other son will be 20 in December:) The little one’s imagination is going crazy right now, he worries about monsters in the closet and all that good stuff. Right now I have conditioned myself to work, train, etc. on a pretty small amount of sleep, so long as I get my catch up periods. One weekend day each week I sleep like a teenager.

Huh… I need to hands… lol;)
Sometimes I sit on my hand to make it fall asleep… then go at it, feels like someone else. Uhh, wait, what?.. did I say that out loud? lol!

Just go and buy a monster mask, and wear it to bed… and wait. When he comes into the room, sit up… and hold your arms out to him and growl. I bet he will think twice about it again, and may be a little scarred for the rest of his life… but he will learn how to deal with it through medication, hypnosis and counselling. I did.

That is pure evil. And I am trying really hard not to LOL.
OK, I have a ton of work on my desk, but cannot get done because for each job I am waiting on someone else for something, or the customer is on vacation, or it actually needs a signature. Etc Etc. So I went over to the gym for some ‘fill in the gap’ work.
Dumbell Curls. Okay, let me stop here. For the last year my curling has been very minimal, and except for hammer curls I never push it. Now, my biceps are a little smaller. I know they are not ‘necessary’ but heck, they do work as a stabilizer in the bench, squat and deadlift all to some degree. Plus sometimes you just wanna pump guns.
Seated DB curls: 35s x 10, 45s x 10, 55s x 10, 65s x 8, x 8
One armed hammer curl on preacher bench: 35 x 20, 45 x 12, x 10
Curls in squat rack: 135 x 8, x 8 — A year ago I would have been good for 12-15 reps.
Calve raise 4 x 20-30
Seated calve 3 x 15-20
External rotation 3 x 20
Pull aparts 3 x 20
Face pulls 3 x 12-15
Cable abs 3 x 12-15
Hanging abs 3 x 15
BSing 50 x 1000
Back to work and still playing the waiting game.

Leg strength ain’t my issue, for me it is more mental and core. If I don’t keep up heavy ab and low back work the walkouts suck. Once I walk it out I am fine…

that’s one of the big reasons why i rotate in the fronts and zerchers. walking out is a breeze. if you can put up some respectible numbers doing the fronts off pins, then you won’t have any issues with your abs or lower back… trust me.

Thanks MM. After my 8/1 meet I am going to start trying more of the pin work, rotated in with some other variations. Right now after 8/1 all the posted meets in my area are USAPL, not sure I want to deal with them anymore, so my schedule might be all ‘off season’ here on out, for awhile…
What weight class and numbers are you looking for at this meet?

I will be 275s, push my opener is looking to be 445 or so, 610 on my pull for opener. Since it is unsanctioned I am considering it ‘just for fun’ on not stressing too hard on where I end up, will just see how I feel that day.
This a.m. 23 minutes of elliptical. Was going for 30, but little man woke up, and was already running a little late. Have a sh@#storm to deal with at work, but DE bench at lunch.
