Molyneux on Incels

Botox faces do freak me out. I rely on expression quite a bit in both directions of communication.

I kept thinking of my one ex gf that I still run into a lot. She was a super cute little fitness bunny back then but has gotten into Botox and the lip stuff in the past few years. Ugh.

We had Andrew Dice Clay.

How in the hell did he happen?

You think it is the same when women and men cheat. I don’t really think it is the same. I think when women cheat its worse. however, morally both are equally wrong. And I answered why I think it is a problem.

@BrickHead

have you ever seen the movie Polytechnique by Denis Villeneuve? It is an incredible film, gut wrenching, sad. Villeneuve is a master director but the movie is hard to stomach for most because it depicts the true events of a massacre by a deranged college kid. But it is a good example of what has been happening in society for a long time, and the awful attitude some younger men end up developing for the variety of reasons we talk about here, or at least try to.

It’s disgusting to call someone a ‘woman hater’ the same way it is to say someone is a ‘racist’ simply because you disagree with some of their viewpoints. But it seems this is the politics of the day, and how people talk to each other now. It pisses me off, but it is what it is these days.

I love comedy and comedians in general but I was never a big Dice fan. Seemed like once I’d seen some of the “character” it was all the same to me.

It’s certainly not because the content turned me off as some of my favorite comedians can be much worse. I guess it may depend on how you define that.

I do know many comedians cite one of his albums (I want to say the second) as amazing. If I remember right it wasn’t rehearsed and he just came in and did it making fun of the audience. I think Todd Barry May have done something similar recently

It’s just bullshit, but why not run with it?. I’ve been in a bad relationship. I totally dig Tool. What do you think is underneath the surface of our interactions with females that men should concern ourselves with? How do you make the pieces fit?

I ask this in good faith. I can’t say I’ve hung on to your every word, nor do I expect you to have done the same to me. It just seems like you’re hung up on something that I can’t quite get my head around.

As an aside, I don’t speak how I write. When it comes to this forum, I typically write how I think. I wish I could say I speak like I think, but I routinely fail at this for some reason.

The 80s too! I’m 40 but I remember quite a bit. Comedies and horrors were memorable, scary, and and funny. Revenge of the Nerds (an incel rebellion of sorts?), Goonies (first film I saw in a theater in ‘85, at 5 years old), Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Indiana Jones, Gremlins, and the silly sex comedies like Hardbodies, Spring Break, and Porky’s. HBO had Tales from the Crypt.

We saw him at a comedy club in Long Island for my bachelor party!

And he got destroyed eventually. They went after him and crushed his career in the mid 90s.

Shame. Real fucking shame.

But why bother listening to me? I just linked you to a quick interview done on Friday with a Phd/professor/writer, an old school feminist, known feminist at that. Why not listen to the interview I linked? Why not read the links and books Brick has posted?

If you think this is all just bullshit conspiracy shit being spouted by dudes on a forum then by all means there are others with actual credibility speaking about these topics.

He says: “The fragility! And it’s not just women, let’s be honest…”

He’s right. She called it “fainting couch feminism,” and she’s right, too.

But here you have two well-known public spokespersons calling for a limit to the lunacy. Seem positive to me, not reason for further confirmation that the world has gone to hell in a hand basket. Threads like this one display fainting couch masculinity. It’s similarly silly.

How many times now over how many years have I called the men’s rights activists the equal-opposites to the radical feminists? They are.

I never heard of it. I’ll look it up. Which leads me to a question regarding the topic at hand and movies. Does anyone think the main characters of films like Taxi Driver, The Machinist, and Falling Down came out of nowhere?

Anyone ever watched the show The View?

Denis Villenueva is also a progressive. His last 3 films were almost literal denouncements of the “patriarchy”.

With that aside, what do you think we’ve actually been saying here? Most of us here are centrists on both left and right of the political spectrum. We’re been saying get the fuck off youtube and stop listening to people selling fear. We asked for, and gave you nation wide stats so you don’t think just because people in your area or social group experience certain things, it reflects on the entirety of society as a whole. News outlets aren’t doing anyone any favors. FOX News brought up that socialist moron AOC MORE TIMES than liberal news outlets because they know it triggers their audience. What is this “culture war”? Most people wouldn’t even give 2 fucks about it if youtube personalities hadn’t kept repeating it over and over again just to stir up shit and get clicks.

Angry kids go batshit when they latch on to an ideology on the other extreme end of the spectrum where other angry kids agreeing with their views scream, “society’s going to end!”. This is nothing new on the left or right.

Have they suggested policy changes that would get the changes in society you want to see? Posed to @BrickHead as well given you two have polar opposite views on the cause.

What are the possible policy changes that will cause the societal shifts you are both looking for? How do we help incels OR Incels?

Obviously asking women to lower their standards isn’t the answer

Recently discharged Vietnam War vet, chronic insomniac(which is why he chooses to drive a taxi), thinks bringing the chick from Moonlighting to see a porno on their first date is a good idea. Anti-war, anti-consumption, anti-corporatism, a statement on mental illness. Very liberal film.

A statement on corporatism and mass consumption. Would be considered liberal for it’s time. Joel Schumacher is gay.

I’ve not watched The Machinist.

Look, there are lots of things I don’t agree with in these movies or people on the left, but the only writer held in high regard during that era you’re going to find with actual conservative, or right wing views is John Milius. And Mario Puzo if you consider him a screenwriter.

Let’s not forget the works of John Carpenter. Halloween, They Live, Assault on Precinct 13.

You’re not missing much.

and I love John Carpenter flicks but, yes, They Live isn’t even subtle. As an aside, I was thinking about this movie the other day and thought what if Nada was just crazy or on drugs and was hallucinating the whole thing? All those people man … what a lunatic

Villenueva’s last three films were about smashing the patriarchy as much as Ridley Scott or James Cameron has smashed patriarchs lol.

I know Villenueva and his work really well as he is one of my fav film directors. His movie “Enemy” was profound for me.

Anyways, you don’t really know me at all. You put the incel label on and that is the paradigm in which you view everything I say. There’s nothing I can say that will change that, and its too exhausting to try.

Blade Runner 2049
Arrival
Sicario

You don’t even understand what you are watching. You tried to equate Children of Men to falling birthrates ending up in the collectivization of sex. It’s no wonder why what you watch on YouTube has you all confused.

You have absolutely zero self-awareness … it’s quite a fascinating thing.

I recommend you examine the idiom, “pot calling the kettle black” … it may not mean what you think it means…

Not with that attitude!!
