Molyneux on Incels

Then how do you know these numbers?

I wouldn’t tell a 22 year old virgin he’s a loser and I wouldn’t label him an incel. You all coming up with these labels for something that isn’t a crime or a sign of being a bad person are the problem.

I know a female incel who is 32 now and I could see this happening to her when she was 19.

I have female relatives of 22-23 years of age and I give them the explicit advice of 25ish to gain some experience of relationships with men.

I don’t. It’s more important they have a loving relationship with their parents since they will be in that relationship against their will, so to speak, during a significant time in their development.

Who said it’s a crime or an incel is a bad person? I think there’s something wrong with you.

The six month time frame is a general time frame used by those who discuss the topic online.

By age 25 you are or should be a fully functioning adult.

You have had enough time to escape any teen angst, escape your parents, at least physically, if they had severe problems, 100s of varied social situations to speak to women, reasons to respect yourself (income, employment, education, hobbies).

If you are still a virgin at 22 it is not great, if you are one by 25 major alarm bells should be ringing.

I didn’t and you need to read more carefully.

Is being an incel a good thing?

Bad parents, like religion, can wreck you for life.

By definition, if there was a possibility for them to become non-celibate, they were not involuntary celibate in the first place. It’s a no-true-scotsman.

I fully agree.

But by age 25 you need to be able to take responsibility for functioning for yourself.

I totally understand the issues both males and females have regarding relationships, as a result of parental influence since birth.

I actually grew up amongst many men, myself included, who took seemingly FOREVER to grow up. I DO largely blame this on the media and boomers generally. CB, did I say media? Lol.

And why are all incels lumped into the same group? Maybe some are insufferable douchebags. Maybe some lack confidence. Maybe some have legit cognitive issues. I don’t think there is one cure.

Never ending “education” and ensuing huge debts, are also a factor for incels, in some instances.

Particularly living with their parents for most of their 20s, and often adolescent behaviours as a result (eg their mother washing their clothes, etc).

It’s not advisable for people to have sex or start a family with just any person. Some people do not get the opportunity of a good match. Hence incelism.

In some countries living with your parents well into adulthood is normal.

I imagine incels are seen as those with fixable behavioural deficiencies.

Obviously, there are those with serious disabilities etc, and I do not think those are typically the people being spoken of when this subject is discussed.

The media actually jumped all over the male loser phenomenon, even encouraging it, with films like Old School and films with Adam Sandler portraying a man-child.

You cannot lump “start a family” in with “have sex” in this dialogue. To do so is disingenuous, as I have said on many occasions (to include directly to you) that those are VERY different dynamics.

It would be akin to me asking “do you ever speed or sell cocaine?” under the premise of discussing law infractions.

I am speaking of having a sexual relationship with another human.

In western societies, most functioning men would be married by 21 not so long ago.

Now, most of these functioning male 21 year olds are still in education and saddled with debt.

Maxim magazine also swallowed up the male invalid too.

I’ll stick with family then.
