Modern Monetary Theory: A Primer

I guess all those people in past times had no skills. Why weren’t they living on welfare?

Yeah he is so shit, he’s been there for about 7 years. They were just waiting for a good manager to get rid of him.

True more times than many would think.

I would argue they had more skills. There a ton of job openings in skilled trades right now…showing me that either people are a) too stupid to learn a skill b) think a job like that is beneath them.
College is paid for by loans and trade school is cheap …no excuse for laziness. People working at McDonald’s shouldn’t be making a great living, it’s a menial task in an industry contributing to massive health problems.

My solution is to realize that this is the way its been since man first struggled to hunt the mastadon and try to set up my own personal life where maybe I get few more rainbows. I can have compassion for those struggling and help in what ways I can. I have no compassion for lazy stooges who want to mooch off the people contributing to society.
Compared to history - we have it the easiest ever.

In what ways?

And what is a “great living” to you?

So profits over people is the way it’s always been? The, I got mine mentality.

Am I not supposed to try make things that I see as wrong, better?

This is your bias clouding my response. Did I say profit overall? No.
Shitty companies like Monsanto and DuPont that have caused harm with their chemicals should be held accountable (for an example).

But as discussed you actively participate in a direct product of a system you hate as your means for trying to change things. That’s like a pacifist enlisting in the army to end war.

You forgot almost the entire “healthcare” industry.

How is one supposed to live when practically forced to live via a capitalist economic system?
If I believe things are very bad and need to be changed for the better, wouldn’t that compel me to try and change things?

You aint changing shit

It was an example…not an exhaustive list

We already discussed this - if you believe so fervently in what you claim to believe in, start a not for profit that helps whatever cause you wish to champion. You can get paid as that NFPs CEO (hell you can even set your own pay if you can get the board you appoint to approve it) and you get to help your cause.
But, that involves getting off your ass and paying something more than lip service and donations.
