Modern Monetary Theory: A Primer

Nobody can be refused care by law. Single payer is not the fantasy land you talk about. Yet, you would have zero clue because you probably have not traveled outside of your little bubble. You can watch Youtube videos though - congrats.

What exactly is the duty of government again or a government run healthcare program? Have you seen the VA? Have you ever been in one? What about a single payer hospital in a country like Canada or Italy?

That is NOT the healthcare I would want even for my dog.

You do because you are clueless and have ZERO life experience as a peasant - yet think you understand everything.

You don’t even understand how to make money or keep a job.

Bet you still cash those disability payments though. Why don’t you give them away for the greater good?

It’s a basement, and it’s his mom’s. Feel pretty dumb now, huh?

Are you talking about people going to the emergency room? Hmmm…I wonder if these people would have went to the doctor sooner could they have avoided the issue that has progressed to an emergency?

And neither is the free market fantasy you believe in. Are there any other advanced countries that have a free market healthcare system? So I guess everyone else is doing it wrong and we are doing it right. Is that why we pay about twice as much as everyone else for mediocre results. Congrats on living ion a fantasy world. Way back in 1993 Rage Against The Machine had most of the people on this forum figured out. “Now you do what they told ya. Now you are under control”.

Ahhhh…yes!

So your happy paying twice as much as everyone else for sub-par results? And the rationing of medication because it’s too expensive?

I make enough to satisfy myself.

WTF, are you talking about?

Yes, I’m clueless because I can see where the majority of evidence points to but you live for a failed ideology and have to twist yourself into a pretzel to do your best(a joke) to keep your failed beliefs on life support.

Mom passed away in 2011.

@castoli711

No rebuttal to these peer published articles? How strange…

I don’t want hear shit about debates - they are pointless. Case and point any presidential debate in the last 2 election cycles - Trump “won” the debates by being a belligerent asshole (does anybody truly think Biden is capable of any form of rational thought at this point?). This is how your MMT proponents behave on the videos you send.

This claim has yet to be backed up by any evidence from you

Clearly since you are against unethical consumption you must also give away every extra penny you earn and let homeless sleep on your couch. I have determined that for you anything greater than 250 square feet is too much space. I might as well determine this because essentially what you are calling for is that someone (government) dictates when an individual “has enough”.

Yep, they are pointless. It’s much better to write papers w/o having the side to refute your arguments in real time. Man, what a waste.

You call this a debate? Bwahahaha…

This tells me you haven’t watched them.

Man, they are scared. 90+% of their arguments will fall to the wayside under MMT. How could they govern and control people w/o the constant fear-mongering about the debt?

Papers are peer reviewed by a large board of contemporaries in the field. You don’t get published if you are full of shit…
Papers allow for nuanced counterarguments - not table pounding as in a debate. The problem for you specifically is that papers take more than 2 brain cells to understand.

This tells me you didn’t read the abstracts of any the papers I posted.

I have watched some of them and others and the MMT proponents never fail to pull out “the derisive laugh” move to try and discount any point made against them (not every point but enough). It’s the same derisive laugh employed by fat acceptance people when you tell them obesity has negative health outcomes (see the moron “Fat Doctor Uk” for the most glaring example). Being dismissive of the other person’s points because they don’t match with yours is arrogance in the extreme (another thing being displayed by you in this thread when presented with counter-evidence to your monetary cult).

Mediocre results? Why are all new and novel surgeries and procedures founded in the US?

Again, how are you defining sub-par results?

I live for a failed ideology, yet at half your age I am more successful than you would ever be even given 100 lifetimes.

You are pathetic.

Indoctrination works on even the mainstream. They are propaganda the majority of times. All of what you say does not take away the validity of debates.

Do they not refute the oppositions arguments? What vids have you watched completely? If someone tells me that the country will bankrupt itself, it is legitimate to laugh at this as the predictors of this have been wrong for decades. Being wrong for this long and nor admitting it is laughable.

What would this have to do w/ results? Who is eligible for them?

And as usual it all goes back to sheer materialism with you.

Again way too short of a timeline when you are talking massive countries and economies. USSR lasted for 70+ years after the Bolshevik revolution and they still failed (predictably). So no, 40-50 years is not long enough to preclude the notion of a country wide collapse.

Everyone.

Non-material things included.

How are you children? Wife?

How much did you donate to charity last year?

Do you even lift?

It does not matter if material or non-material, I slaughter you in totality at every turn.

Yes! What is “ethical consumption?”

Maybe the discussion should be to compare “ethical consumption” with “sustainable consumption.”

Nope. I need to hear what Zeptoli’s definition of ethical consumption is. I’m assuming I won’t get one though. More likely a link to a YouTube video where noam Chomsky says the phrase but also doesn’t define it.

Truly sorry to hear that.

Quoted the wrong thing, it seems.
Fixed:

I think it pretty much amounts to boycotting the unethical.

And how many countries have large debts? And how many of them have failed and imploded? So yeah, keep pushing the time line further down so you can never be wrong. And the 40-50 years didn’t stop professional economists from predicting the financial demise of the U.S. But YOU know better. They should have consulted you. Then you could have saved them from being wrong every time they talked about the crushing debt that never crushes. I know someday, someday!

Let’s take gas for example. People recognize the pollution it causes as it expels from a vehicle. They acknowledge the problems with attaining the raw materials. However, unless they are walking or riding a bicycle everywhere it is nearly impossible to avoid. They are using a product that they believe does harm. But as I’ve said, it is nearly impossible to avoid using it. Like the dipshits who complained that Senator Sanders flew in a plane while he was running for the Presidency. As if he was supposed to walk to every state while on the campaign. Those people are so unserious. This is an example to illustrate what I’m talking about.

No, but neither do you.
And since MMT has been roundly criticized by pretty much everyone else in the same field - let’s play by democratic rules - majority wins.

MMT proposes sovereign debt crisis(es) are not a thing. Europe begs to differ:

Greece still hasn’t recovered, Iceland only got saved by tourist revenue and well, no one is looking at making major investments into Spains current economy.

Hey look, high sovereign debt contributed significantly the to European debt crisis:

Imagine that, you can’t spend your way out of financial trouble.

From 2012 when there was much less US deficit:

The whole financial situation world over is a house of cards:

One wrong pull and the whole damn thing comes tumbling down.
Frankly, I hope congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling (which we have hit yet again) and forces some austerity into spending and getting rid of US government subsidies to interests that contribute to reelection campaigns (see the yearly pork report published by some members of congress)

For some satire (which will be lost on you - read some Vonnegut and learn how that shit works) on how to solve the looming crisis:

Same path as before, larger scale;
