Modern Monetary Theory: A Primer

An ER docs job is to keep you alive and get you stable to be transferred to a specialist doctor - it’s asinine to assume they care/want to learn about nutrition.

Yes, doing something preventative may cut into the bottom line.

Pick a product and enlighten me in what is left out of the list of ingredients.
Obviously, from your lack of experience I need a little more than your opinion.

I don’t think most doctors as individuals care about the bottom line anymore than any other person. Like i said their job is to keep you alive in emergent situations (i.e. you had a heart attack from eating too much shit food and not exercising) and get you to the cardiologist to fix the rest (he can tell you about nutrition or one can easily google that shit from the hospital bed if so inclined).

He’s going to say it’s not about the ingredients, but how the ingredients are mixed together. I’m telling ya’ll, we’ve done this song and dance many times before…

If you really want to have some fun, get him to try and explain why he supports single payer while simultaneously being really mad the FDA won’t approve stem cell treatment and not seeing the discrepancy or hypocrisy.

You mean like some witch’s brew?
I can hardly wait.

Yes, pretty much exactly that and I’m not joking. I bet he uses the word subterfuge in his response.

Something like this:

I could keep going, but I think you get the point.

His most effective diversion is answering a question with a question. But he still hasn’t answered the question. Either he doesn’t know the answer (which is no surprise considering his limited life experiences) or he doesn’t want to say his answer.

He was the champion for unions, yet he didn’t know the difference between “open shop” and “closed shop.” And it’s worse than that he had no idea what either meant.

He was the champion for railroad safety, but totally unaware what PTC was.

Castoli is the poster child of an empty suit.

My all time favorite interaction with him was when he thought all corporations were “c” corps and referred to them as “plain corporations”. Being an accountant, I had fun with that for weeks.

All the antibiotics and steroids that make it into the food supply among other things. Are they listed?

I’m not saying it’s the individual doctors and nurses are wholly to blame. Who are their bosses? Who directs them and whose concern is the bottom line?

And I bet the cardiologists knowledge of food is spot on. How many hours do doctor students typically receive?

All available to read online.

Where is the hypocrisy? Not giving people a choice has to do with the maximization of profits.

If this was so important why did I not read about it in the talks over the contract?

Yes getting people to open up and see the folly of their argument is like running away.

So unless you know what a “closed shop” and “open shop” is you can’t be for the foundations of the union message.
And this guy wants to be taken seriously. GTFOH! Incredibly weak arguments.

Sounds like the dude brought up some great points. And I noticed you didn’t include any of your incredibly weak points. Embarrassed? You should be.

Don’t remember that conversation.

Like not giving people a choice in healthcare and forcing them into government run single payer?

I suppose I eat those that make into meat products and all the contamination of the water, soil, and air that can get into fish and crops. All is well considering. None of us can avoid all the pollution. Expanding civilization isn’t without its consequences.

The real garbage that is in processed foods is listed on the labels. Why eat the processed foods if you know they are unhealthy? Isn’t this the manipulation by big companies that most concerns you?

The largest self imposed health problems in this country are a result of dietary ignorance or lack of self discipline of the individuals. Quit defending their ignorance and/or weak constitution. I have zero sympathy for the weak in mind.

You are the know-it-all who calls others morons. How do you like your own medicine?

People don’t have the choice to “just say no?” I seem to have that choice.

Does Big Food have to add these things? Only for maximization of profits, fuck the consequences!

All the garbage concerns me. The listed and unlisted garbage.

And quit pretending that the manipulation of ingredients by food scientist has no effect on choice.
