MLB Season 2011

So Mel Queen died today.

This was the guy who completely changed Roy Halladay’s delivery (to what it is now) after Halladay was sent to the minors early in his career.

He served as a pitching Coach for the Jays in the late 90’s.

R.I.P.

While he was the Jays pitching Coach Pat Hentgen won the Cy Young under him in 1996 as well as Rogers Clemens in 1997 and 1998.

So I’m watching the Yankees-Red Sox game and apparently Jorge Posada pulled himself out of the lineup.

He’s not injured or have any personal emergencies. Maybe he’s going to retire?

Posada has called a press conference for after the game. I would guess that
he’s going to be hanging up the mask. Catchers are a funny breed. If
you can’t catch any more and play another position or DH, it’s almost like
you’re not even in the game, very unsatisfying. I’m sure him and Girardi
have had some long talks in the past months, catcher-to-catcher. Yes, it
is sort of like a brotherhood.

Great run Jorge, you did the long and prestigous Yankee 2 spot proud…

^^^ Ken Rosenthal pointed out he has 13 million left on his deal.

Would he really leave 13 million on the table?

With career earnings north of $100M, sure. Especially if he thought
he was dragging the team down.

Wow, Adrian Gonzalez is really coming into the zone and starting to look like the stud that the Red Sox paid for.

On another note, Joe Buck sounds so bad tonight. He sounds like a fucking robot with no emotion. I never liked him that much to begin with, but man is he bad tonight.

This is different from the normal Joe Buck…how?

So it turned out just to be a temper tantrum. Go figure.

They hyped the whole thing up during the game like he was going to retire.

Anyone else see Jose Bautista’s 3 home run performance last night?

Any of you fantasy playing guys have him on your roster?

Just read something interesting: Since 2010 he’s hit 70 home runs. The next closest person has hit 49.

I just want to know how he managed to get his hands on Indigo 3G a year ago.

There is a pitcher on the Royals who gave up 14 earned runs in 2.1 innings today. I think it’s safe to say his ERA is fucked for the rest of the season.

And got sent to AAA right after. I’ve had some bad days but man…

So for you guys following the NL West, who do you think will win the division after what you’ve seen thus far?

The Rockies have cooled off and the Giants have caught up. But the Giants offense is pitiful, in fact until they lost today they were the only division leader to give up more runs than they have scored.

Has your outlook changed from what it was at the beginning of the season?

Also you’re right about A-Gon strungoutboy, the guy is lighting it up. Must suck to see him do so well on another team eh?

Rays are absolutely killing it, have the best record in baseball since they’re 0-6 start.

The Giants’ offense may be pitiful, but it’s only May. They were this bad at this time last year too, and with less talent. A healthy Sandoval will make a huge difference. And they still have the best pitching in the division.

The only thing that’s changed for me are the Rockies. Jimenez is struggling and aside from last year’s first half and a couple flashes before that, inconsistency seems to be his MO. I don’t think the Rockies have the pitching to match up with the Giants without Jimenez AND de la Rosa pitching well night in, night out. The Dodgers look like the team the Giants will have to deal with for the rest of the year. They have the starting pitching and the bullpen to be in it until the end. They’re a scary team when Kemp and Ethier are swinging the bat well.

Honestly I think the NL west is kind of weak this year. Every team has some major flaws. The wildcard will definately come out of the east or central.

How about dem red sawx lol?
