Now we have Buck Martinez
The Orioles are undefeated! ![]()
And Rays fans, get used to Damon’s silly antics like the one in the field yesterday. Why didn’t Manny play out there instead? Oh wait…
Way to go Big Pelf!
AJ is gonna pitch a gem today (or at least I hope)!

Just curious what do Giants fans expect out of Tejada?
A mid-season move is what I expect out of Tejada. I think they signed him as an old risk reward player.
If he performs than that’s sweet for us, let him stick in the lineup, but I don’t see that happening. We’re going to have to find someone else to put there, or possibly move Fontenot over.
Tejada is the one player in the lineup who just doesn’t fit though…
I loved that the Giants started the season in classic “torture” fashion. It’s no fun losing on opening day, but it was a great game to watch and a classic match up of two of the game’s best pitchers.
Fixed that for ya
Ha thanks. NL is all I care about though.
Dodgers are looking good. Maybe they will have a chance to win the Division.
Of course they have a chance. Kemp has to be the guy he was two years ago.
Let’s not jump to conclusions.
It was definitely an exciting opening weekend though. Some serious fireworks in terms of runs.
He said maybe they have a chance, not that they are going to win the division. I hate the Dodgers, but i’ll admit they have talent.

You could say that about any MLB team, especially at the beginning of the season.
I was listening to ESPN radio this morning, I usually cant listen to Mike and Mike as they annoy the crap out of me, but they made a good point, Carl Crawford is already getting bumped to 7th in the order because he is trying to hard? You have got to be effing kidding me, you better try hard! Its 2 games into the season and Francona needs to take pressure off of him, gets me sick.

Yeah I heard about that too. The trying too hard thing is true, sometimes players will sign a big new contract try too hard to prove their worth but just end up struggling. They think too much about it and basically start to press.
But I agree it’s retarded to move him into the 7th spot. It’s too early into the season for that. Let him figure it out wherever he’s supposed to hit at least for the first month of the season.
What makes less sense is hitting carl craw in the 3 hole. career .337 obp, .296 avg never had a 20hr season, 162 game rbi averge: 78, in 2009 he managed to accumulate 672 at bats an only 68 rbi ALMOST 700 at bats and only 68 rbi…definitely not a 3 hole hitter at all. Just because he got traded to the red sox doesn’t all of the sudden make him a better player.
inb4 “oh he always hits leadoff so he has no rbi opportunities”
Edit: anyways i think what happened is Francona got such an earful(justifiably) for hitting crawford in the 3 hole that he moved him elsewhere in the lineup(where he should be).

Technically yes. I follow the NL west pretty well and I think the Dodgers can end up anywhere from first to third place.
About Crawford, when I saw the Sox lineup I didn’t like the fact that he was hitting third. Youk should be hitting third with A-Gon hitting fourth. Maybe put Crawford hitting sixth after Ortiz.

Agreed on all accounts but you just sign him to a 7 yr 140 mill contract to bat him seventh, bat that fucker in a more important spot and give him more than a series to find himself., welcome to a big market carl.

seriously the white sox are looking phenomenal.
The White Sox are definately an AL sleeper and i would not be surprised if they lead MLB in homeruns, yes i just said that, and its not because i am bias Chicago White Sox fan.

It’s going to be tough for them to out-homer the Jays. i think they Jays will lead the MLB again this year.
CUBAN!!!
PHILLIES!!!

IH MY MAN, ITS BEEN TOO LONG, I predict the World Series will be Phillies vs. Boston, as much as I would love to say Phillies vs. White Sox. The Phillies starting rotation is the definition of a nightmare, I wont be surprised if they go close to perfect in the playoffs. Not unlike the White Sox in 05 who only lost one game in the most post season, which was game one in the ALCS to the Angels, they swept everyone else.
Where have you been hiding, young man?
Yup… it’s early, but we’ve got really high hopes for them this year with their lineup… If they crash and burn, there will be lynching i’m sure. I doubt they will, though.
Greeny and I watched the Cubs botch it yesterday. She was just glad that she was able to watch it televised, instead of the computer. I know you’re a Sox fan, too.

My estimated total for White Sox HR’s is 228, which will be for the MLB lead and I think i am underselling for sure. Toronto will not hit that many again.
You’re being very generous by giving Alexei Ramirez 25 HR’s and I don’t think Alex Rios will hit 25 HRs. I honestly think Rios peaked in 2007. Lastly, I know Paul Konerko hit 39 last year, but chances are he will go back to around what he has averaged over the last 5 years which is about 30.
That being said the White Sox will hit a lot of homers this year.

I couldn’t agree more. Humans crave stability, especially in new situations or locations.
Crawford has proven to be an elite player, and should be left in his early slot until at least mid-season before any such changes are made.
You paid him the big bucks for a reason, now show some faith.
If any of you guys watch the highlights tonight check out the A’s-Jays game
Come from behind victory (down 5-1) + extra innings game
