DB, you wanna have an avatar bet for the World Series?

You’re on! I’m taking the Giants. Loser sports the winner’s avatar until New Year’s Day.

Does anyone here think that Ozzie Guillen will ever get hired to manage in the majors ever again? I certainly don’t. He’s a fucking sideshow freak, not a manager, and he demands constant attention. Everything’s all about Ozzie with that guy.

On top of that, the guy speaks English like he’s hellbent on coming across as inarticulate as possible. We get it, you’re from Venezuela and English isn’t your first language. Well, after playing or coaching in the majors for more than 20 years you’d think he’d know how to properly conjugate a verb by now.

No fucking way. You can’t burn that many bridges . A World Series title will only buy you so much slack

I hope the giants activate Melky

We also haven’t talked about Yu Darvish since the bidding war. The guy looked great but did have a few bad streaks of games at one point. I do think he will become elite eventually though. He is legit

It’s not going to happen. Forget about it. Emmanuel Burriss will be on the roster before Melky.

Alright, I got the Tigers. New Year’s Day works but how about we wager a Avatar of our choosing(obviously excluding anything derogatory, racist, etc.). What do you say?

I agree to no racist avatars.

How awesome would that be though?

If I win the bet, your avatar certainly will be a derogatory one. I would expect nothing less if the Tigers win.

In all honesty, I just think it would intriguing to see Melky play.

I wonder what sort of treatment he would get, how he would perform and the storylines that would follow.

When the Giants/Jays lockup next year, lets have a no-holds-barred avatar contest. No restrictions.

I agree. Other than his first start he began the season well before getting into a rough patch mid-season. He finished the season strong though and He gave the Rangers a chance to win in the one-game playoff had their offense been awake.

I’m going for the Tigers because I don’t care to see DB gloat on here about his team anymore but damn it’s hard to see the Giants losing. They just don’t quit and they are tough to beat at home. I think home field advantage may tip the scales in their favor, thanks Melky!

I’m with you there maiden.

I want the Tigers to win because if they don’t DB will be abs

Will be absolutely unbearable

Alright, that works lol. You have yourself a bet Sir.

You better fucking believe I’m going to be unbearable. How would you respond if the Jays won the Series? Shit, how would you respond if they finished within 10 games of first place?

Honestly though, how unbearable was I in the MLB thread two years ago? Not nearly as bad as I could have been, given that I live by the motto “Classless in victory, belligerent in defeat”.

I’ll tell you who’s going to be unbearable in here is WestCoast. That guy spends so much time fingerbanging Barry Bonds’ asshole while he sucks his cock that he rarely ever comes in here anymore, but I can guarantee you that motherfucking lemming will be all over this thread if the Giants win it all again.

I assume you’re a Tigers fan, right? Do you live in or near Detroit? Are you a beneficiary of the auto industry? Would derogatory include having to sport a Toyota or Honda avatar? How about two gay men making out on the hood of a Supra?

Hey DB, you know more about baseball than I’ll ever know, so let me ask you a question. These guys were talking about who to pitch against Verlander. The Yankee fan said all you have to do is beat the other pitchers like how the Yankees lost to Cliff Lee twice but beat their other pitchers and won the WS.

So he said since Verlander is so dominant compared to the other Gs pitchers who are struggling (except Vogelsong), the Gs should throw out Lincecum who is playing badly against Verlander and pitch Vogelsong, Cain and Zito against the other Detroit pitchers.

It was pretty interesting how the other guys thought it was stupid and argued back and forth.
That’s a pretty stupid way to look at things and if that’s indicative of the Yankees’ way of thinking then no wonder they got eliminated in 4.

No team that’s good enough to get to the Series goes into a game against ANY pitcher with a defeatist attitude like that. They don’t go in assuming they’ll lose because it’s Verlander. Like Scutaro said when asked how he feels about facing one of the best pitchers in the game in Game 1, he has to go up against one of the best teams in the game.

Verlander may be the best pitcher in the AL, but the Giants are the best team in the NL, so I don’t think they’ll look at things like that at all.

Keep in mind, the Yankees may not have beat Cliff Lee but still won the Series, but when the Giants won it the next year they did what everyone thought was impossible and tacked a 7-spot on him en route to a Game One blowout. They also beat Halladay twice after everyone said that couldn’t be done either. Verlander is hardly invincible and the team with the best chance against him is the best team. The Giants are the best team he’s faced all year and I think they’ll put several on the board against him in Game One. It’s baseball, anything can happen and the momentum is all on the Giants’ side.
Goddamn, I’m a fucking clairvoyant.
