This game shouldn’t be important, but it is because of the rule Selig put on it. The NL won the last two all-star games which game them home field advantage and giving them the World Series.
I only watch baseball from September anyway.

Ahahahahaha, nice job Verlander! Go NL!
The NL-AL home run score was also pretty funny. 53-21 in Favour of AL
Meaningless victory, perhaps even Pyrrhic.
lol
And where would this game rank in importance? A cunt hair shy of meaningless?
Wherever it ranks, it’s at least a few cunt hairs above the Derby, considering that home field advantage and an avatar is on the line in this game. HAHAHAHA! Don’t think I forgot about that one! I’ll have your new one posted soon.

How is this?

Or this one?

I like this one a lot. I think it’ll be a good fit.

This one might be my favorite.

I think I might have found the one. I’ll tell you what, Raj. I’ll empower you a little bit. You can choose between this one, the Jeter picture or the second dead blue jay picture.
How long was the bet for? I believe it was for the entirety of the second half of the season. I look forward to seeing which one you choose to use from here until the first weekend of October.
No, we made it a month. Take a look.
The way Verlander pitched, even Emmanuel Burriss could’ve gotten a hit.

Melky’s laughing at him all the way home! HAHAHAHA!
So apparently Selig floated the idea of using the DH in NL parks and not using it in AL parks during future interleague games.
This is the worst fucking idea I’ve heard from Selig, and I’ve heard a lot. Regardless of why, the fact is that NL fans overwhelmingly hate the DH and AL fans overwhelmingly loathe the idea of pitchers hitting. So subject them to a change of the rules? Who is this going to make happy? It’s not like AL and NL fans aren’t well-aware of what the other league’s rules look like in practice.
I don’t know where Selig comes up with some of this shit. It’s like he’s always wanting to tinker with the game when he should just leave it alone for the most part.

From what I heard if the Astros go to the AL, there would have to be a lot more interleague games because of the odd amount of teams in each league. I just think they should parity in both leagues. Either no DL or have a DL for both.
Anyone else curious of the odds Vegas gave each our teams to win the World Series in 2012?
Toronto Blue Jays 35/1
New York Yankees 9/2
Texas Rangers 5/1
San Francisco Giants 11/1
Washington Nationals 11/1
Los Angeles Angels 11/1
Detroit Tigers 14/1
Cincinnati Reds 14/1
Los Angeles Dodgers 16/1
Atlanta Braves 16/1
Chicago White Sox 18/1
Tampa Bay Rays 18/1
St. Louis Cardinals 20/1
Boston Red Sox 22/1
Philadelphia Phillies 30/1
Pittsburgh Pirates 30/1
Miami Marlins 35/1
Arizona Diamondbacks 35/1
New York Mets 40/1
Odds continue after the jump.
Cleveland Indians 45/1
Baltimore Orioles 50/1
Milwaukee Brewers 60/1
Oakland Athletics 100/1
Kansas City Royals 150/1
Colorado Rockies 300/1
Minnesota Twins 300/1
Chicago Cubs 500/1
Houston Astros 500/1
San Diego Padres 500/1
Seattle Mariners 500/1
What, how did the Rockies get 300/1 odds? They suck just as much as the Padres. Their pitching staff is horrible.

Next year there will be at least one interleague series being played every day of the season. I fucking hate it.
Personally, I think the best way to arrange things is quite simple. Let the AL have the DH. If they want to play an incomplete version of the game, fine. Let them.
No divisions, just the AL and the NL, with no interleague except for the “natural rivalry” series. It would mean a few random match ups, but I think series like Giants/A’s, Dodgers/Angels, Cubs/White Sox and Mets/Yankees are good enough to keep around.
With no divisions and each team playing a much more balanced NL schedule, the best four records in each league go to the playoffs, with two best-of-seven series instead of best-of-5 and best-of-7. Schedule a Sunday doubleheader every few weeks so the season ends the last weekend in September and not in October.
As far as the DH goes, I think people forget that pitchers used to be pretty good hitters before they had the DH. I was watching highlights of the 1967 World Series and Bob GIbson hit a home run in it. I’ve seen pitchers batting and getting hits in the All-Star Game as well. Pitchers will never also be great at hitting, but I think if we were to see the DH removed for a generation pitchers would have to hit like everyone else at every level of play. They’d get better and whatever drop in the level of play some DH advocates claim you get in the NL would be largely alleviated as pitchers get more and more at-bats.
There’s no argument against having 9 well-rounded players who are competent in all aspects of the game.
