MLB 2012

Really too subjective.

If you want to see who is having the best year to this point without going too in depth,I would look at FIP. Like ERA, the lower the better

Here’s a quick explanation of FIP

Edit: FIP isn’t perfect, but still better than ERA

Is anyone actually interested in interleague? Watching the Mets right now meh… Only team I can’t wait to see are the Nationals

No particular order:
Verlander
Halladay
Kershaw
Felix
Gio Gonzalez
Price
Lee
Cain
Weaver
Greinke

You’d take Gio Gonzalez and David Price over CC Sabathia and Cole Hamels?

I haven’t really seen Gio much, but I DEFINITELY wouldn’t rate Price as a top 10 pitcher. Guy struggled for large portions in 2011

I had Sabathia on the list at first and I toyed with the idea of Hamels, but the tie-breakers for me were based on who was having the better seasons. Sabathia has good numbers this year, but Gonzalez and Greinke have better numbers.

As far as Price goes, he’s been pretty close to dominant this year. Give me a young lefty with a mid-90’s fastball and a couple of postseasons under his belt any day. The guy has more talent than probably anyone on my list and his season this year and in 2010 were excellent. He struggled a little last year, but if I had to build two starting rotations he would be in one of them.

As far as Gio Gonzalez goes, he’s having an outstanding year, has dominant stuff and he’s also left-handed. If he weren’t putting it all together right now, he wouldn’t have made the list. But the criteria was the ten best pitchers NOW. These ten aren’t having the ten best seasons so far, but I think when the season is over and done with these ten will be the best ten pitchers in the game.

Randy Johnson
Curt Schilling
Brian Wilson.

Haha very funny…

Damn it’s been a long time since the Yankees were a .500 team this late in the season (I know it’s early but usually they are 15 games sbove .500 at this point). Also the Phillies in last place, even though it’s still early, is suprising. Both teams are only five out and plenty of time to make it up though. The Dodgers are for real.

hopefully no one, this is a painful season.
They moved up to 8.5, so I’m glad. Better than being 10.5 they looked like they were going to go the other day. They have a lot of room to get to the top, that is for sure.
things arent looking much better, injuries are killin us and it impossible to get any momentum without our roster together right now. upton is starting to heat up finally though

I still think the Yankees will be fine. They are too stacked to hover around .500 for the season.

I’m not so sure about Boston anymore though.

World Series: Tigers - Doyers with Detroit bringing it home

Pure speculation and conjecture, of course. But a Los Angeles - Detriot World Series would split my whole family right in twain, and I’d love every second of it.

Not to be a dick but…is this a serious playoff prediction?

Are you really picking Baltimore to win the AL East and predicting the White Sox to have a better record than the Red Sox, Jays, Rays and Angels?

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the worst teams in baseball!
It’s more of a statement that I don’t care who wins the AL East. Let it be B-mores’ year.

But yeah, legitimately, I think the Chi-sox are going to have a better record than the Red Sox.
Man, I wrote this pediction kind of in jest, especially the wildcard predictions.

But whoa.

Doyers got the best record in baseball headed into June, Orioles are leading the AL East…

Tigers need to pick it up, though. Cleveland is the team that’s surprising me overall, right along with the Angels doing so poorly.

Overall, though? Dodgers doing well makes for a more fun summer in my house, and now that the Kings are in the Cup finals, theres a few more things to smile about.

If the O’s don’t fall off and eventually finish 4th or 5th I will be extremely surprised.

Adam Jones is on pace for 50 Home runs! 50!

Their bullpen is legit, practically everything else is questionable. I’m still not buying.

No matter what, if three teams are in the mix at the end in the AL East it’s awesome for baseball.

Well, we’re 10.5 today. Getting some momentum for sure. This is going to be a long climb.

Top 5 teams in payroll are all out of playoffs to this point

Gotta spend to contend.

This is the shit I have to deal with as a baseball fan living in Toronto:

Granted we’re still not even out of May, but your squad has no chance zip zero none…

Chillain are you a baseball fan or are you just keeping track of the Dodgers because of their hot start.

Also just to be a dick I will say the Dodgers aren’t very good. Theyre basically two world class players + Ethier and then spare parts.

If they win the division it will be the equivalent of when the Raptors won the titanic division pre Big 3 era.

How about them Reds!!! First in the NL Central!!!
