So you may not be a cocky bastard, but you’re definitely an unoriginal POS.
I’ve never seen that guy’s avatar in my life. I vacillated between the Calvin avatar and one with a picture of Lucy from Peanuts at her booth that says “The Doctor Is In”. I guess I am unoriginal in that I didn’t search for a variation of the Calvin pic like this guy did.

I love it. I’m an unoriginal piece of shit (you don’t even have the balls to actually type out the words) because I used an avatar in conjunction with a thread that someone else started about me that highly resembles the avatar that someone who I’ve never seen on here before has. You’re the one who went searching around for the guy’s avi, what does that make you, other than bored with nothing better to do. All this from a guy who hasn’t put forth an original thought on this entire thread.

You can say whatever you want about me around here raj, but everyone here knows that the one thing I am NOT is unoriginal.

That’s weird. I derived all sorts of perverse pleasures from seeing your avatar change and your team has been down and depressed all year. Honestly, I’m really disappointed in your selection. You’ve had about a month to come up with something before this series and this is all you could provide? Pretty amateurish if you ask me. Oh well, I’ll sport it with pride for the next 30 days.
Nope, they are playing exactly where I expected them to be. I predicted 80-85 wins this year. Next year is a different story
They’re on pace to win 87 games. That’s after this horrid spell they’ve gone through. For most of the year they’ve been on pace to win 90-93 games. It’s laughable to say that you EXPECTED their best hitter, their starting 2nd baseman, two of their starting pitchers and their current best hitter (Sandoval) to go on the DL this year AND that they would still be in contention all year. That’s what’s happened and you certainly did not expect any of that.

Let’s put it this way: if I had said at the beginning of the year that Posey would be out for the season in May, that Sandoval would miss 6 weeks with a broken hand, that Jonathan Sanchez would go on the DL, that Zito would go on the DL twice, that Freddy Sanchez would be out for the year before the All-Star break and that their big trade deadline acquisition would also go on the DL for what’s probably going to be about half of his time with the team…and that they would sit only 2.5 games out of first after having occupied it for most of the season you would have laughed. So don’t try to tell us all after the fact that this is where you expected them to be.
therajraj wrote:
Or just a constant reminder of why you guys are going to repeat.
I would have sported any of those without a second thought. What’s really revealing here is the fact that you obviously find pleasure in a horrific injury that ended a kid’s season all because it makes it more likely that your bizarre preseason predictions about the Giants come true.

I’m glad you find humor in it. I don’t, and neither do any decent human beings on here. Only an Unoriginal Piece of Shit would find it funny when someone with a wife and two kids suffers a serious injury like that. Obviously you have some sort of emotional investment in the outcome of the Giants’ season this year, which is sad because all this really means is that your own team is so pathetic and so hopeless that you have to search for pleasure from baseball in other ways, namely by taking solace in the downfall of other teams so that you can sit there in your tiny little apartment and (erroneously) think that now us Giants fans feel the despair that you ALWAYS feel about the Blue Jays.

I suppose someone who never played the sport or has ever been seriously injured playing ANY sport would have the mindset about Posey’s injury that you clearly have. But us on here who have actually found the nerve to put on the jockstrap and compete against others at something that doesn’t happen over the Internet with an XBox controller in one hand and your flaccid cock in the other would never find such perverse joy in another’s injury, regardless of who they play for.

And this is exactly why I didn’t give you that avatar. You would try your best to turn it around on me like you are attempting to in this post. I posted it because I knew it would bother you, that’s it. But go ahead and twists this into something it’s really not.

At the end of the day you’re not using any of those avatars.

You can’t stop thinking about me, can you Raj?

Also what was bizarre about my pre-season predictions? Or were you talking about the 80-85 win line that was just a mix up?

Before the season started I said:

Cody Ross was playing out of his skull in the 2010 playoffs and isn’t actually a good hitter. True.

Aubrey Huff was getting on in years and he wouldn’t be as reliable as he was in the past. True.

Miguel Tejada is garbage. True.

Buster Posey might struggle this year. Undetermined.

I wasn’t convinced the Giants would win their division this year albeit I predicted the Rockies would be the ones that could overtake them not the Dbacks. Slightly off here.

I predicted Bumgarner might struggle since it will be his first full year and pitchers tend to not progress in a linear fashion. I was wrong.

I half suspected that you were referring to the Blue Jays. The other half suspected that you weren’t referring to the Blue Jays but would then claim that you were once I exposed your ignorant line of thought on the matter.

I went with my second instinct, that you were NOT talking about the Blue Jays because, well…no one on here except for you gives a shit about anything the Blue Jays do. I figured things would get more interesting on here if I turned the conversation toward the Giants. Talking about the Blue Jays constantly in this thread is like talking about the Cincinnati Bengals or the Seattle Seahawks for 30 pages in the NFL thread. I can’t remember the last time the Blue Jays were on Baseball Tonight or Sportscenter for anything other than a 15 second rundown of their last game. There’s a reason for that.

First of all, predicting that Cody Ross’ postseason accomplishments would not be indicative of his success (or lack thereof) this year hardly means anything. That’s like me predicting that the Blue Jays will finish behind the Yankees and the Red Sox.

Aubrey Huff hasn’t been reliable for 2 of the last 3 seasons and was never more than a slightly above average hitter in the first place. Given that he’s 35 now, you hardly went out on a limb with that one.

Miguel Tejada is garbage? Gee, takes a real original thinker to think that a 37 y/o shortstop isn’t going to be a good player on the defending World Champions’ team.

Posey: again, hardly going out on a limb. What was bizarre was your repeated argument that he would struggle because other sophomore players have struggled. I remember you cited Adam Lind as an example. What others have done has no bearing on what Posey would have done. Each player should be judged strictly on their own merit. You’re thinking like someone whose main exposure to baseball is through fantasy leagues.

You may not have been convinced the Giants would win their division, but let’s be real here. If the Giants had remained relatively healthy this year instead of being besieged with injuries (Their entire Opening Day starting infield has spent time on the DL) they’d be cruising to the Division title this year and you’d have looked pretty stupid for going with Colorado. But they ARE injured and they ARE in danger of not winning the division so I suppose you’ve blindly stumbled upon something there.

Regarding Bumgarner: yes, you were completely wrong on that one and I was completely right. Aside from one historically bad outing and the fact that his loss total is so high due to having the lowest run support in the NL, he’s had a fantastic first full season in the bigs.

People make predictions about future performance based on past performance. Maybe that’s a new concept to you?

With respect to Cody Ross come on dude, we spoke at length about him. You were convinced he would be a decent hitter in 2011 and I told you he was just a utility player that got hot at the right time.

Miguel Tejada - You obviously couldn’t figure out he would be shit. So if it wasn’t a “real thinker” then that just means you are a fucking idiot for not figuring that one out.

Buster Posey - Yes, nothing another player does has any effect on him. I made my prediction on past performance of players in his same situation. I bet if he stayed healthy it would have come true. Unfortunately we’ll never know.

Aubrey Huff - How far out on a limb I went is not what we’re discussing. You disagreed with me and I was right. You have a choice of praising me for this or question your ability to understand Major League Baseball.

Also if you still feel the avatar I chose for you is soft, feel free to switch it with one of the Buster Posey ones if you want. Since you don’t feel enough of a punishment.

Nope. I like this one more. It’s kind of gay-looking, something that you can’t handle in your avatar, hence all the pre-qualifications you demanded from me when we made this bet in the first place. I’ll use any avatar you supply, but I won’t change it after you’ve belatedly come up with something after being harangued about your poor original choice from more than one poster on here.

I like it even more because it reveals how your mind works when you do a little original thinking for once. You think for yourself and you come up with pink hearts and pesudo homo-erotic imagery. Nice.

You’re thinking like someone who’s main exposure to baseball is through fantasy leagues.

Are you trying to get out a rise out of me?

Who is Josh?
You are.

Yeah, the fun is in discussing baseball while getting a contentious debate going.

I’M Josh? That’s news to me.

Let me guess where this comes from. This is either the first name of this JLone person with a Calvin avatar similar to the one I had, or (and I think this is more likely, given your obsession with me and my emotional state) you have been obsessed with the fact that I was actually drafted by a Major League team so you’ve pored over the Internet trying to find my real identity in lists of drafted players from the late 90’s like some fucking rabid stalker. Give it up. Even if I type my own name into Google, my name doesn’t appear anywhere in any draft lists. The databases don’t go back far enough to when I was drafted AND in the late rounds that I was taken in. Is that what’s going on here, Raj?

Admittedly, it’s pretty sad and pathetic on my part, and graphically exposes my high level of ego and pretentiousness, to make THIS assumption of all assumptions. But if I’m right, there really isn’t a proper word to describe the level of depravity and sorrow that you’ve sunk to.

Or, a third possibility is that you’re just calling me “Josh” to try to get a reaction from me, like repeating everything someone says or other juvenile attempts at provocation. Either way, you’re the one who looks like an idiot here. I AM an idiot, but I admit it, which puts me one up on you, pal.
