ZEB,
So you are against the pre-existing conditions clause. Color me surprised.
I’m against any form of government involvement. Unlike you I am consistent there is no hypocrisy in my positions. I want smaller government, less government intrusion into people’s lives. Open up the borders and let the Insurance companies battle it out – It’s called a free market system B r i a n.
In short, government has no business dictating health care needs to private individuals.
Interesting.
Now tell me, how does your support of both Republicanism and small government exist alongside each other.
There are two main parties in the US, as you know. And of the two republicans have a better handle on most issues. Have they been good at shrinking government…hell no! But they at least have the intention, and the right philosophy. Democrats on the other hand tell you up front that they want to grow government and take our money to do it.
So color this the far better of two choices. And I do believe eventually it will be a republican who fixes the mess that we’re in based on their philosophy of government. And for all we know that person could very well be Mitt Romney!
If I take your car and total it and say I had the intention to not to do so, would you believe me the first time
What about the second time? Or the third time?
When would it become the boy who cried wolf?
Support republicans all you like. But don’t pretend that they will reduce the role of government one iota.
That’s not an accurate analogy. There are more people in charge of the car than just you.
First of all it takes an entire government in order to reduce the size and scope of government. If you recall, (well at least read) Ronald Reagan lowered taxes to the lowest they’d been in many years. And submitted a budget that would have cut the size of government. But the democrats shot it down. A President can in fact lead but we have a system where it takes both parties in order to make major changes. For example do you think President Obama would have gotten his health care bill through both the house and senate if they were controlled by republicans? Of course not don’t be naive. If we elect a republican President and also a republican house and senate in 12 (which is not likely) I believe that we will see smaller government and lower taxes. Liberalism just doesn’t work and it never has.
One final point, Bush cut taxes FOR EVERYONE by 5% and added almost 4 million jobs. Reagan cut them by a much larger margin and added 20 million jobs! This philosophy of allowing people to keep more of their own money appeals to me. Call me crazy but I work for my money and I’d like to keep as much as I can.
At this point there is no reason for anyone who actually works for a living to vote for a democrat. And in particularly this democrat, he’s been a resounding failure by almost any standard!
