Mild Steroids That Don't Affect Androgen

Is there any mild steroids that doesn’t affect androgen much like hair loss, bloating, amortization but still can increase strength and put some muscle? What are they?

A few, but only if you buttchug them and your protein.

We understood that pharmaceutical companies were developing new AAS with lower androgen affect. Testosterone is considered 1:1 anabolic to androgenic ration. They were looking for an anabolic without the side effects of androgen (ex. women)

I don’t know the actual ratios, but if I were to list what I believe has the highest anabolic to androgenic ratio it would be the following in descending order:

  • Primobolin
  • Anavar
  • Winstrol
  • Deca/durabolin or Equipoise
  • Dianabol
  • Anadrol
  • Testosterone

Many here have more precise information than I do.

A lot of this (the anabolic to androgenic ratios) comes from a study that looked at prostate growth from these compounds when given to rats.

Part of the issue here is that prostate growth isn’t what most men are worried about with AAS. It is usually losing head hair.

Primo and Winstrol from your list are some of the worst in that regard. Not on your list, but Mast is brutal for men that are prone to hair loss too.

This is common with DHT derivatives. They have very low androgenic ratings, but cause the most hair loss (aside from Tren).

Bloating and aromatization are generally not from the androgenic effects. That is from estrogen.

Using steroids if you are prone to hair loss and want to keep your hair isn’t a great idea. Your best bet is Testosterone with a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor (Finasteride or Dutasteride). These only help with Testosterone though (perhaps with Halo, but that is not a common drug). Minoxidil (oral or topical) helps (and likely has anti-androgenic effects). Topical anti-androgens work as well (stuff like RU-58841, or Pyrilutamide), but the two listed are not approved by the FDA.

With these treatments, you need to remain on them if you want to keep your hair. Perhaps you could get away with just a topical anti-androgen while on cycle?

Personally, I use Finasteride and oral Minoxidil. Both are cheap and I don’t have any perceptible side effects (aside from keeping my hair, and it actually getting thicker). I am always on Testosterone though. Usually only TRT dose (currently 160 mg/wk), but about once a year I bump it up to a mild cycle level for a few months.

I am not very susceptible to hair loss though. I do care a lot about my hair. I started treatment as soon as a buddy pointed out that it appeared to just be thinning a tiny bit on the crown. I asked him to look for me. He uses similar treatment to me (except for a lot more steroids, and he uses the stronger 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, Dutasteride).

Deca, EQ and Tbol are the most hair safe of the AAS if you are not going to use the stuff mentioned above. Although Deca / NPP (same drug, different ester) is supposed to be more harsh on the hair if using a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor.

“Myotropic” is the term you’re looking for. For example: Nandrolone has a Myotropic:Androgenic ratio 11:1 compared to that of Testosterone.

You won’t find one that has NO androgens as that would declassify it as an Androgenic-Anabolic Steroid. Be warned, these compounds often have significant trade-offs that are being made in lieu of higher androgens.

Some reading for you with the good bits pictured above:
