Just got some recent labs done for mid cycle and not really sure how to interpret the results as I have no historical tests showing Iron. Thanks in advance.
Ferritin 28mg/ml (38-380)
Total Iron 161 mcg/dl (50-180)
Iron Binding Capacity 479 mcg/dl (250-425)
% Saturation 34% (20-48)
well if you dont have them, what did you wanted from us? like - maybe we have your historical tests showing iron? (joking)
anyways, low ferritin might make you feel fatigued… if you feel like shit - swallow iron supps like candy…
if you dont feel like shit - maybe its ok for you and no problem…
Yeah if I had history on this it would prob be easier to figure out. Would have thought this was a routine test but guess not. Only reason I had it done was a person I know has iron issues and he is all FD up. Was just curious to see where I stood.
Def feeling fatigued. Will start with adding in the iron and see how it goes.
I had normal ferritin but since i have high hematocrit i started dumping blood on my own. In result i fucked up my ferritin to 0. My iron is high, ferritin was 0. I felt like complete garbage for like 3 weeks - i tought i have the Cov, but it turned out my ferritin was just 0.
Now im taking iron supps.
I wonder why is your ferritin so low tho.
I donated blood as well but is was back in December[quote=“hankthetank89, post:4, topic:276832, full:true”]

.
Hematocrit is at 52.1%. Top of range is 50. Usually sits 42-48 or so but drifts up occasionally. Typically donate blood every few months
My hematocrit is around 55-58 even… BUT… i found some 10 year old hospital records and it was 56 then.
Then i remembered how when i was a kid, a doctor said that i have thick blood and need to drink more, so my mom forced me to always finish my tea in the morning when i was a kid…
I completely forgot about all that and just obsessed about my hematocrit. Now i understand that mine just is higher and thats it.
