Microdiscectomy: HGH Post Surgery?old athlete, javelin thrower, with the track season coming up in about 7 months and I need to be on the top of my game for college recruiting. I need to recover from this surgery FAST. I’m getting a microdisc at L5/S1, it isn’t that big but has been causing sciatica for the past 9 months.
Am I too young to use HGH in small dosages to help speed up the trauma and preserve lean mass while I’m doing nothing?
Got the herniation from sprinting in cold weather with like no warm up.

It’s frustrating being injured, I can understand that, but I don’t think many people would recommend GH in your situation. To be honest if I had to say I would choose peptides over GH, but 17 is young and the risks (unknown) could outweigh the benefits (probably quite small).
Try to get the best treatment you can and let it heal, and remember that GH and peptides would not normally bring dramatic results anyway. Your GH levels are likely to be quite high naturally.
You won’t believe this answer; but at your age HGH won’t really help.
Rest, and work on your recovery in a smart and linear fashion. Recovering from injury is part of being an athlete. Good luck.
