Do we constantly have to know about your evolving potential to become a prison bitch? Remember, your life is so shallow and meaningless to you that killing for money would solve all your problems.
Not like I was bragging or anything…did I make you feel inadequate? I apologize from the bottom of my ballsack if I did.

This would make sense if you were talking about…hmmm???..R. Kelly.
There’s a difference in a fulfilled, accomplished career that fades into obscurity than a career that never gets on track…aka…“wasted talent.”
His life situation was probably conducive to health problems.
Speaking of R. Kelly, what ever happened to him? I mean, it’s almost like he just vanished along with his case.
news reports say he had his heart attack while running into a wal-mart… he heard boys pants were half off bada bing

You’re talking about the most famous man in the world. Yeah, there’s alot of famous people and most of them are weirdos, but none of them are Michael Jackson famous. Tom Cruise is famous, and he’s a fucking loon, but he’s not Michael Jackson famous. Angelina Jolie’s pretty fucking famous and pretty fucking weird, but she’s not Michael Jackson famous.
There’s been three people in the history of the world who’ve attained that level of noteriety and they’ve all self destructed: Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears, and maybe she’s young enough that she can somewhat do damage control. There reaches a point of being TOO famous, and these three hit it. I’m not condoning what he did, or allegedly did, but no one here will ever understand the level of insanity his life reached on every concieveable level.
The first tape I ever bought was BAD when I was in kindergarten. He was the greatest entertainer in music history, and no one will be able to touch what he’s done. Show some fucking respect.
Sorry, I had to respond to this. Britney Spears? I’m not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. People who attain the level of fame of a Michael Jackson or an Elvis never fall from that fame.
I know you were looking for a third person to throw in there in order to make a triplet, but Britney was a poor choice. John Lennon would have been much closer to the mark…
I’m being completely serious. I wasn’t looking for a third person to just fit in there, she was honestly the most famous person in the world for a period, and it did the same thing to her as it did to Elvis and Jackson. And, Jackson did fall from that fame. He’s not as famous now as he was in the late 80’s, but people still remember who and what he was.
If you are being serious, then you ought to rethink this. It’s unfair to claim that “fame” is only dictated by how many people know who you are. Globalization has allowed an extraordinary number of people to gain “notoriety” for extremely short periods of time. If Britney Spears dies at the age of 50, there will not be around the clock news coverage of it (nor would there be if she dies tomorrow). Nor will there be hundreds of people lining up outside her hospital.
You’re really talking about someone who is “where are they now” famous. She’s someone with no staying power. For instance, I’m pretty sure that the Backstreet Boys were just as well known back in the late nineties as was Britney.
When Lance Bass came out of the closet no one really cared. When Britney Spears bought a pack of cigs there was 30 paparazzi documenting it. Her peak may’ve been short lived, but she was the most famous person in the world for a period. That cannot be questioned.
Really? The most famous person in the world? How about: Bill Clinton, Yassir Arafat, George Bush Jr., Fidel Castro, Osama Bin Laden, Professor X?
How about this:
http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart_watch/34074/chart-watch-extra-the-top-20-album-sellers-of-the-2000s
She’s not even the best selling AMERICAN musician over the last 10 years.
You’re a troll. Or silly as hell.
Didn’t you just say “It’s unfair to claim that “fame” is only dictated by how many people know who you are”? I didn’t say she was the best musician, or even the biggest seller. I’m also not talking about a 10 year period, which is why I’ve said repeatedly her peak was short lived. I’m saying during her peak you put anyone you mentioned - and those you didn’t - against her in terms of notoriety and they lose.
Yes, I did. That’s why I named people who have actually done something (as opposed to a face many people can identify a la Zach Effron). That would be like you claiming that a vee-jay on MTV is more famous than the Beatles because more people exist in the world now than did in the 60s, so at their “peaks” more people could identify the vee-jay. That is, clearly, the distinction I was making.
And I showed you her record sales because, to me, that would be an indication of her level of FAME!
I’m done. You’ll never be convinced that Britney Spears has never been the most famous person in the world. Are you her agent or something? You’re the most vigorous Britney apologist I’ve ever come across.
And you’re dense. I wish I had a time machine to take you back to the early 2000’s so you could see that Britney Spears was, in fact, the most famous person in the world.

Are you kidding? Any time you can go to ANY continent and have people who know his songs, I think it is safe to say his music changed the world a little…if for no other reason than creating something that many people have in common.
I mean, get real. Why act like he didn’t have an unmatched affect on the entire planet? His Thriller album is the top selling album OF ALL TIME.
Edit: I am also not (and never was) convinced he actually tried to have sex with little boys. His idol was fucking Peter Pan. There was no doubt he was screwed in the head, but it would take someone who actually saw themselves as an adult to rape a kid. I just have the opinion that it is more likely he just never grew up mentally. Weird? Yes. That doesn’t mean he raped kids.
Just because people knew his music doesn’t mean he changed the world. To say he changed the world is just silly. Music wasn’t even changed by him. Maybe videos, but not music.
As far as Thriller being the top selling album of all time, it just goes to show people suck. Also in the top 10 albums of all time are the Dirty Dancing soundtrack and the Backstreet Boys Millennium.
As far as you not believing he diddled kids, so what? He paid millions to keep from being prosecuted. You probably think OJ was innocent, too.
WHAT??? If there was no Michael Jackson just about everyone here would be a different person. Music shapes and molds people, and if there was no MJ music as we know it would not be the same. He completely blurred the line between “black” music and “white” music. He made MTV cool. He could stand in front of 100,000 people and reduce them to tears with a word or even a physical gesture. Point blank, the world would not be the same if he didn’t exist.
I still love his music to this day and have enjoyed it since I was a kid…the only good that came out of this was that every radio station was playing his songs today. RIP MJ.

I think the third person you are looking for along with Michael Jackson and Elvis, is clearly Michael Jordan. You could go to a tribe in the middle of Africa, and they would know who Michael Jordan was.
Britney? Hardly.
One of my earliest memories is of Michael Jackson. I was FIVE YEARS OLD when I first saw “Moonwalker.” I had very little idea (or memory of) Michael Jackson at the time. But for some reason, 20 years later, I remember where I was, who I was with, and a distinct image of the television screen with “Moonwalker on.” I was at a family party, hanging with the other 5-7 year olds, in the upstairs bonus room, in Cerritos, CA watching Michael Jackson. The guy had a huge impact, and I didn’t even know it.
Also, I remember driving to San Francisco with my family, in our Toyota Previa which had a tape deck. We popped in “Black or White” and must have listened to the whole tape through about 1,000 times. I think we completely wore out the tape and the tape deck. Unbelievable.
I honestly don’t think we will ever see a phenomenon reach the heights that MJ did ever again.
Hopefully he finds peace in the after-life.
Rest in Paradise MJ.
…just heard about his death, but i can’t say it affects me much…
I’ve been a huge fan my entire life; I even had the pleasure of seeing him in concert once.
My first tape and CD were Micheal Jackson’s Bad and Dangerous, respectively.
I remember my brother and I putting on concerts for my parents when we were little to his songs, lol.
I MEMORIZED Moonwalker. It’s almost weird watching it now; it’s like a part of me.
RIP Michael. You definitely affected my life and will be missed.
This clip, for me, probably captures him the best. You can just see how he shined and tell how bright he would become.
That voice is just unreal…

Look at the crowd. All sorts of people in there, just loving it together.
The kid at 1:15 makes me smile everytime ![]()
When i was a little boy, I used to have my mom and dad check under my bed for MJ because my brother told me he was coming to rape me. So he touched millions of lives with his music (im sure thats why he made the music to begin with, nevermind the millions of dollars he made), what about the dozens of little boys who are now scarred forever because MJ made them drink “Jesus Juice” and touched them.
Catholic Priests repent peoples sins and send them to heaven (no im not catholic), when they touch little boys we thumb our noses at them, but when a pop-star does it, he is just a tortured soul. That being said there are conflicting reports on whats going to happen with his remains. Michael Jackson requested his remains be pressed into lego blocks, so little boys can play with him forever. However his will reads that his body be donated to science, and placed within the childrens please touch museum in Philadelphia.
