You’re talking about the most famous man in the world. Yeah, there’s alot of famous people and most of them are weirdos, but none of them are Michael Jackson famous. Tom Cruise is famous, and he’s a fucking loon, but he’s not Michael Jackson famous. Angelina Jolie’s pretty fucking famous and pretty fucking weird, but she’s not Michael Jackson famous.

There’s been three people in the history of the world who’ve attained that level of noteriety and they’ve all self destructed: Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears, and maybe she’s young enough that she can somewhat do damage control. There reaches a point of being TOO famous, and these three hit it. I’m not condoning what he did, or allegedly did, but no one here will ever understand the level of insanity his life reached on every concieveable level.

The first tape I ever bought was BAD when I was in kindergarten. He was the greatest entertainer in music history, and no one will be able to touch what he’s done. Show some fucking respect.

Sorry, I had to respond to this. Britney Spears? I’m not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. People who attain the level of fame of a Michael Jackson or an Elvis never fall from that fame.

I know you were looking for a third person to throw in there in order to make a triplet, but Britney was a poor choice. John Lennon would have been much closer to the mark…

I’m being completely serious. I wasn’t looking for a third person to just fit in there, she was honestly the most famous person in the world for a period, and it did the same thing to her as it did to Elvis and Jackson. And, Jackson did fall from that fame. He’s not as famous now as he was in the late 80’s, but people still remember who and what he was.

If you are being serious, then you ought to rethink this. It’s unfair to claim that “fame” is only dictated by how many people know who you are. Globalization has allowed an extraordinary number of people to gain “notoriety” for extremely short periods of time. If Britney Spears dies at the age of 50, there will not be around the clock news coverage of it (nor would there be if she dies tomorrow). Nor will there be hundreds of people lining up outside her hospital.

You’re really talking about someone who is “where are they now” famous. She’s someone with no staying power. For instance, I’m pretty sure that the Backstreet Boys were just as well known back in the late nineties as was Britney.

When Lance Bass came out of the closet no one really cared. When Britney Spears bought a pack of cigs there was 30 paparazzi documenting it. Her peak may’ve been short lived, but she was the most famous person in the world for a period. That cannot be questioned.[/quote]

Really? The most famous person in the world? How about: Bill Clinton, Yassir Arafat, George Bush Jr., Fidel Castro, Osama Bin Laden, Professor X?

How about this:

She’s not even the best selling AMERICAN musician over the last 10 years.
You’re a troll. Or silly as hell.

I’d recommend a closed casket.

Thriller kicks fucking ass

I love how people care that this scum died, but couldn’t care less if some little boy lost his grandpa to cancer.

Never a fan of that kind of music, including his. Never bought a record, I have about 12,000 mp3’s and not one is Micheal Jackson, but I do have a bunch of Jackson 5. Dancing of any kind never did anything for me either. Bores the livin hell outta me. None of that however means he wasn’t an amazing talent.

I was gonna wait a while to address this, but it’s already come up. I have no way to be certain, but I am unconvinced that he was “diddling” children. If I were I would be right there with this Tom guy.

The worst thing that was ever confirmed as I recall was that he had kids in his bed. Which is weird, wrong and something for which I would have broken his scrawny neck if it was my son. That is still not the same as actual sexual molestation IF IF IF that’s all it was.

Don’t ask me why exactly, but in his case, IF IF IF that’s as far as it went, I can comprehend it without in any way condoning it. He had his childhood stolen from him, was screwed up form the beginning and as tough as I usually am on any form of this kinda stuff I found myself buying (kinda) his twisted explanations and just being glad that the visitations were over. Something that never should have happened in the first place. I also kept catching the aroma of gold digging wafting through the air during that whole fiasco.

I could be totally wrong and he may be a complete pervert pedophile, but in light of what I’m sure of I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Didn’t you just say “It’s unfair to claim that “fame” is only dictated by how many people know who you are”? I didn’t say she was the best musician, or even the biggest seller. I’m also not talking about a 10 year period, which is why I’ve said repeatedly her peak was short lived. I’m saying during her peak you put anyone you mentioned - and those you didn’t - against her in terms of notoriety and they lose.

Yes, I did. That’s why I named people who have actually done something (as opposed to a face many people can identify a la Zach Effron). That would be like you claiming that a vee-jay on MTV is more famous than the Beatles because more people exist in the world now than did in the 60s, so at their “peaks” more people could identify the vee-jay. That is, clearly, the distinction I was making.

And I showed you her record sales because, to me, that would be an indication of her level of FAME!

I’m done. You’ll never be convinced that Britney Spears has never been the most famous person in the world. Are you her agent or something? You’re the most vigorous Britney apologist I’ve ever come across.

hey guys, check this out, I’m sorry The link was dead. This is a report on M>J’s health status from 6 months ago… This could have contributed to his death…

Michael Jackson , 50, is reportedly suffering from a potentially fatal lung disease, US news reports say.

The “King of Pop” suffers from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a rare genetic illness, an unconfirmed report said, adding that he may have to undergo a lung transplant.
“He’s had it for years but it’s gotten worse,” Ian Halperin, author of a book on Jackson, told In Touch magazine.
“He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it… (But) it’s the (gastrointestinal) bleeding that is the most problematic part. It could kill him.”
The singer, known for his hits Thriller or Bad, can barely speak and is almost blind on his left eye.
Jackson is rarely seen in public.
A few weeks ago, he was photographed in Los Angeles, wearing a Zorro-style mask.
His brother Jermaine Jackson told TV channel FOX News: “He is not well.”

OK JT - get your ass over to Timbo’s house and finally take your rightful thrown

Its sad when ANYONE passes away. Its only because MJ’s music entertained and touched so many lives that people care this much. That little boys Grandpa got mourned and remembered by the people that loved him. The same is happening with MJ just on a larger scale. RIP everyone who has passed away.

EXCEPT HITLER…FUCK HITLER

today the world has lost a true talent. Whether you loathed or loved him you cant deny that what he created was something that inspired all who heard. RIP Michael

Al Sharpton, really? Fucking media vulture…

Are you kidding? Any time you can go to ANY continent and have people who know his songs, I think it is safe to say his music changed the world a little…if for no other reason than creating something that many people have in common.

I mean, get real. Why act like he didn’t have an unmatched affect on the entire planet? His Thriller album is the top selling album OF ALL TIME.

Edit: I am also not (and never was) convinced he actually tried to have sex with little boys. His idol was fucking Peter Pan. There was no doubt he was screwed in the head, but it would take someone who actually saw themselves as an adult to rape a kid. I just have the opinion that it is more likely he just never grew up mentally. Weird? Yes. That doesn’t mean he raped kids.

I didn’t read anyone’s posts and I don’t care what anyone else said. I know some people are going to touch on that fact that he was accused of being a child molester and it’s a damn shame that, in recent memory, that’s what he’ll be remembered for. To me, I remember sitting down as a young kid and hoping they played the Thriller video because it was the coolest damn thing on at the time.

The whole concept of the video made me a life long fan of the zombie genre. That man was the most entertaining man in the world for over 30 years. He made people cry and pass out just by being in the same VENUE. He didn’t sing about being the richest person in the world, he didn’t sing about being the best looking. He sang about peace, love, and equality. He brought people together of all races and creeds the world over. He never wanted to “bring sexy back.” Has anyone who thinks it’s a blessing on the world that he has died ever listened to Man in the Mirror? That’s one of the most beautiful and poignant songs I’ve ever heard.

He might’ve been a weirdo, but I doubt he ever molested children. The world lost a loving soul tonight who positively touched the lives of more people across the world than the North American continent has people. He gave hope through his music more than any artist I can think of. We’ll never see an artist that possessed the amount of talent and compassion that that man had ever again. May God rest his soul.

This is a quote from a family friend…

Jackson family spokesman Brian Oxman reacts to the news of Michael Jackson’s death. He says he is “stunned” and adds that he warned the family that prescription drug abuse might have contributed to his death.

“If you think the case with Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it’s nothing in comparison to what we have seen taking place in Michael Jackson’s life.”

So there you go… Prescription drug abuse. Either that or Chuck Norris.
